I reckon they'll remove his name from the intro and have him keep doing it for season 4 but keep it quiet and maybe get ready to move on in season 5.

In some ways I feel bad for them regarding the cycle of spending a year or so making the thing, dumping the whole thing at once, and an immediate response of "next season when". But at the same time, when though.

It sounds like they're trying to weirdly TV-speak the concept of a sequel series with a new cast/generation of characters as we expected to happen as if the people they're talking to don't understand that Castlevania is set in many different eras.

As much as people feel like a Simon series is obligated, I don't think there's anyone for him to interact with aside from Error. Given that someone already said they wanted to adapt Symphony (and therefore probably Rondo) and that they REALLY wanted to adapt Soma, I'd assume those are what we're getting and Alucard will be the throughline.

Regalingualius posted:Seems like more confirmation that they already have something in the pipeline No I think they're just dumping concept art, wips, and reference materials.

The creators were always into Symphony and Soma so I think some kind of course correction that re-enables Soma to complete the Netflix Alucard trilogy is eventually likely.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's rumours of Dracula being back but we know it probably can't be and it's a mystery, and they bait that it might be Alucard, and at the end of season 1/2 Richter faces him and it's whatever Shaft mind control nonsense and they switch bodies from "Dracula" to Richter which opens the door for actual Alucard to return and face/free Richter.

tsob posted:The recent announcement of Metroid: Dread has me pondering how great a Metroid series could be, but the problem with Metroid as a property is that Samus is basically the only character anyone gives a poo poo about. Ripley doesn't have much character beyond being an antagonist, and then you get to Adam and after Other M I think most people would prefer you not to get to him at all. Nintendo's E3 Treehouse literally had to pause the game during the playthroughs when Samus arrived at a scene with the game's Adam and go "don't worry, he's just your ships AI and he doesn't actually give you instructions or directions; he's just there to give you lore". There probably are other minor characters that could be expanded, but any animation would be doing a lot of heavy lifting to expand the characters. Which is a pity, because Metroid as a setting is great, Samus is a really interesting character and the setup allows for some great action. A Metroid movie/TV series is the first two episodes of The Mandalorian. With even less takling, side characters, and more isolation.

The new writer is very socialist who does limited british/icelandic thrillers so it'll probably be good. Shankar I've always been suspicious about because he seems to buy and gather licenses and be charismatic, but very few seem to materialise (see also Assassin's Creed, Blood Dragon, Devil May Cry, Hyper Light Drifter) while the other producer has spent decades working on Cartoon Network shows that actually exist.
