Ep 2 is Drac on a boat picking off the passengers one by one and it's a pretty good whodunnit (I mean, for the passengers, we know whodunnit), and everyone's cool and I was actually really engaged the whole time, but then they capture him and put him in a coffin with Transylvania soil and it cuts to him waking up in PRESENT DAY. I think I actually said "are you loving kidding me" at the TV That seems like that would fit in What We Do In The Shadows

Haven't watched Dracula yet, but Moffat's whole thing for the last decade or so has been "you thought you were watching this kind of show, but actually you're watching this kind of show" so hearing that his all-trad Dracula adaptation becomes a goofy take on What We Do In The Shadows for the last episode is entirely on-brand. e: Ryan Murphy is a good comparison for Moffat's stuff, tbh. I was surprised at why Dickeye was allowed to roam unchecked at first considering how...colorful her language was, but after a while I just figured that's the way she was and didn't take it personally. I keep forgetting, if you're perma'd, can you just shell out another 10 bux for a new account or will the fash just ban her on sight? Cause I'm willing to buy her a rereg

After forcing myself to sit through Sherlock entirely based on positive word of mouth, I have no interest in watching another Steven Moffat project as long as I live. It's very annoying to me that he keeps taking beloved literary characters and doing these twists on them where he clearly thinks he knows better than the original creators of the work.

I do agree Dickeye can be vitriolic and even when trying to help or explain things to her, she gets on your case until you don’t feel like dealing with her. She doesn’t help herself. But I support to bring her back. She brings discussion to the table and contributes well, it’s good to have her views on things and I do feel she’s a part of the community especially in CineD.

Like, I'd see them poo poo on each other pretty constantly but I never had any context on the beef, and it seemed to be pretty even in terms of who instigated it at any given point so I'm not even a hundred percent sure who the main aggressor was. e: I will say though, where I was coming from on saying she was visibly genuinely unwell is that she started doing that to literally everybody, constantly, including at one point this entire subforum at once (while deliberately being extremely vague on what the hell we were doing wrong, and making GBS threads on anyone who asked her even louder). I'm not sure if a perma is warranted but she probably needs some kind of long break from SA, because it seems like going on here is pretty much self-harm for her. That's really hurtful, and forgive me for getting emotional about it.

I like to think I'm a better person and poster now than I was a decade ago, so maybe if things had been different Dickeye and I would never have had beef. But she's said a lot of things to me that I really can't forget, and that sentiment was mutual. I tried to apologize for that completely unforgivable post I made while off my meds a while back, and Dickeye was completely uninterested in hearing my apology because they considered my posting career in general to be more evidence of what a piece of poo poo I am than any single post. Basically it was just a lot of little things piling up over the years between two people with a short fuse.
