I was just comparing the new Suspiria to bits of Sabrina, interesting to see both got sued over copyrighted imagery.

While I think that is a fun idea, I can't shake the feeling that maybe a set of cameras from the 1940's and it's film stock would be expensive and unwieldy for a 2013 direct-to-streaming found footage production.

Not to mention if we're going for authenticity, there needs to be a sound guy with a boom stick since film cameras run mos. you'll need a slate guy keeping track of camera reels/takes too.

Wasn't the traditional cowboy from history hired pretty much to kill any natives who originally held stakes on the land and to steal their neighboring farmers' livestock?

From what I read, they were basically hired goons who are partly responsible for the genocide of the native population here in the States.

John Leguizamo throws around the numbers of how many millions of natives that were murdered during America's expansion in his new Netflix special. It's pretty hosed up and was a sobering moment for me in realizing how much this country has always hated us.

I never pay attention to ad breaks on Youtube, but this one had an inordinate amount of ads for pork. Not a specific brand or farm, just pork and the different cuts of meat you can get from a pig. Considering the content, I wonder if someone specifically asked for there to be ads for pork to accompany this doc, or was it done maliciously by someone at Youtube, or what. Is anyone else getting pork commercials when they watch this? I don't watch food channels on Youtube, so it's not like some algorithm locked on to my daily pork reading habits or something either.

Are you the one who also wants to do a black and white pulp fiction cut too? For that you should go the Schindler's list route and isolate a single color, I'd say even pick a unique color for each segment, it'll make you more familiar with the Resolve nodes and its tracking tools which is where the real muscle for that program is. The things our colorists do with it is pretty crazy sometimes.

Wow, I was thinking the movie would get in trouble because of the content, not because of some stupid distribution contract legalese.

And even as far as content, there was nothing *that* bad in the movie. Sure, you get a little kid getting his leg blown apart, and a woman's breast is sliced off but honestly, that stuff can be found in a lot of movies. I was actually surprised at the amount of copyrighted artwork that shows up in the movie, usually as a juxtaposition/comparison to the action we just saw on-screen. I wonder what is actually going to get cut from the director's release, the gore, or the copyrighted imagery.

Re edit the film so any time Rooney's on screen the picture is shaking slightly, the audio is distorted, and there's a slight but unnerving atonal screech barely audible. Either that or use footage of Rooney from other movies to imply that he's actually a white man in disguise for inscrutable reasons.

Roto Rooney's face over Audrey's every time she's on screen.

If I'm at someone's house I'll just go into their tv settings and change it without even asking. 90% of the time, they can't even tell anything was changed.

We have these new OLEDs at work that have a built-in dimmer/power saving feature which is really loving annoying because I'll be parked on one shot cleaning up some effects work and then out of nowhere my monitor auto dims and I have to play a bit of the sequence for it to wake its dumb rear end back up.

No, not really. You're starting with a faulty assumption and then extrapolating from there. It's what you always do so I don't know why I'm bothering to engage you this time. The coins aren't shown having an on-screen purpose, but that doesn't mean there isn't one. If you stopped playing SMB when you had 98 coins you'd assume they didn't do anything either. You should go back to talking about how Sonic Doesn't gently caress.

What's the faulty assumption here? That coins serve as in-game currency or that points do not serve an in-game function? Because both are true, you even allude to it yourself. 100 coins "buys" Mario an extra life. 1000000000 points buys you a couple seconds in a depressing documentary about gamer culture.

E: points only give you an extra life if you're stacking them in one move, if you look at the "Extra Life" as really a chance for an extra day of work, then the stacked points move (i.e. catching the goomba on the steps in 1-1), could be looked at as OT seeing as how you can keep performing the move well after the timer ticked down.

and this was the Super Mario arcade cabinet I was referring to earlier.
