My family down there is kind of concerned since right now is typically very very wet where they live (Rancho Cucamonga). sure it's dry, but no drier than it has been for most of the last fifteen years. this is the new normal avshalemon posted:gojm what are the fire management practices like in your neck of the woods? i want to study indigenous fire management techniques here it's honestly in a really frustrating state with tons of complicating factors. to put it very simply, the main focus is on hardening properties and infrastructure in vulnerable areas through buffer areas kept free of potentially flammable vegetation. the big problems with this is that a large part of it relies on owners putting in the time, effort and money to comply with these requirements, and that the areas that are vulnerable are rapidly expanding as climate change dries out and heats up our region a possible solution to this is more widespread and aggressive use of controlled burns to safely deplete fuel, but continuous drought conditions, fears from the community, and regulatory inertia make this difficult if not impossible to implement so now we're in permanent hellworld in which fires can breakout year round, in areas that have not traditionally hardened against them, all while communities continue to sprawl out further into the hinterlands. and the states only recourse seems to be efficiently evacuating people and then paying for rebuilding. climate change is already costing our state hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars a year just in this respect

i'm not a particular expert on caribbean food and exactly what part of its roots stretch back to africa, but it is definitely a cuisine that makes intense heat a part of everyday cooking and my impression is a lot of that comes from peppers imported from africa if nutranurse is around he'll know more than me

my understanding was that lock out tag out applied anytime someone was entering an area where they might be exposed to hazardous energy so physically entering the machine totally calls for lock out tag out unless there's extenuating circumstances that make lock out tag out impossible, specifically so no idiot comes along, sees a functional machine and decides to start it up while you're still inside it

i guess it's probably kosher if it was routine to the operation of the machine and you had an alternate safety protocol in place
