also even though I make too much money a big part of what I make has to be used to support my parents, grandmother, and in-laws my parents are both working in their 70s and will probably work until they're dead, they live with my grandmother in a very small house my grandmother worked until she was 90 at a casino where she also gambled away her life savings a couple decades prior, she only stopped working because she started to go blind both of my in-laws work at walmart in rural missouri and don't make enough money to pay the bills because an accident left my father-in-law partially paralyzed and they have to support their two failsons. one of them is addicted to meth and the other is addicted to jesus every single of one them is a chud that will vote straight republican forever, my dad thinks he's only poor because taxes are too high smdh all I do is give them money, and they're going to work until they die on their feet GREATEST COUNTRY ON EARTH

i should mention that i started my job full time just this week, making it the first full time job i've had in my seven-year long work career. it's also at an ambulance company so we're kind of parasites (although most of the people use medicare). i'll give it a year before i take my talents to a hospital, which in NYC has unions and better benefits

Around 24k, but I live in Beating Heart of Darkness, Indiana and the cost of living is dirt cheap. I drive a beat-to-hell 2016 Chevy Cruze that was totaled and rebuilt to save as much gas as possible. I also rather miraculously have vacation time and the savings to finance random adventures to the Great Lakes, East Coast or Random Cardinal Direction every year. Also managed to get through college without going into debt and own what little I have free and clear. So I guess I'm kinda lucky in that regard, at least until I wake up in a hospital someday and my insurance fucks me. I'll never be rich, but I'm liable to die of respiratory failure due to the area's air quality long before I could ever retire anyway, so I can't complain.

I just started my first real (read: non-retail) job at 90k as a software developer. I only get 2 weeks vacation, but I can work from home whenever I have to. I look forward to the day I become the villain of my own story.

I'm a lab tech making 54k currently, but it's 50 hours of constant work with few breaks a week, and I want to die. My last job was 39k and it was 80% internet surfing with the occasional bout of chemistry, and frankly I'd go back to that in a heartbeat.

I work in the government. Pay grade is GS-12, though I'm getting promoted to a GS-13 next week; locality pay gives it a nice bump. As great as the pay is, I got student loans which eats up most of that. Hopefully public service loan forgiveness will correct that in- oh, say- 6 years? Ugh. Before that I was in private practice making $18-21K in one job, $40-50K in the next. I'll stick to government work.

interesting that the people who claim to make the most money are also the ones least likely to put and actual dollar figure on it my partner and i have a combined ~78k annual income. we don't spend much and most of the residual is squirreled away in hopes of being able to afford owning something in the denver area.
