There's definitely big splashy bomb cards--there's a few giant creatures out there, and my favorite out of the three decks I have (2 decks, the third is godawful) is the Four Horsemen, who come as a package deal in Sanctum. They're all 5 power; Famine and Pestilence have Play/Reap/Draw abilities--Famine kills the weakest creature, Pestilence does one damage to all non-horsemen. When you play War, your off-House creatures can attack that turn, and Death brings all the Horsemen in your discard back to your hand, which can make for some real mega-turns. Good art on them, too.

Meet O. Bhor, Atlavik's Sly Actor, and his supporting cast, the Four Horsemen. Even aside from the Horsemen, it's a good one--Bad Penny is, well, bad, but she actually works surprisingly well with double Seeker Needle. The Brobnar is big and stompy, with a Phoenix Heart to keep the board clear and get some recursion going.

food court bailiff posted:2) How on earth did Four Horsemen become the de facto money cards in this game? The deck I opened for the cut had them and it just seemed way too finicky to get much use out of - and this was with a decent Sanctum backing them up. They're just a really solid package--individually they vary in quality, but the fact that pulling one of them means you get another three quality creatures tossed in guaranteed really helps--whatever else your Sunctum end she up as, it'll have some very solid creatures in it. Death is also one of the few legitimately explosive plays out of Sanctum.

So, if you go first you only play one cars on that first turn. Let's assume you get a 3/3/1 split. In general, would you rather make the first play from the 1-card house for a bigger second turn, or from one of the 3s, so you actually get to activate your first play sooner?
