LtCol J. Krusinski posted:The DA files the charges, and decides what the charge is. Not the Grand Jury. And a Grand Jury win doesn’t mean poo poo really since they only see and hear what the DA has to say and show. They have a 95%+ win rate at the Grand Jury in a lot of jurisdictions. Also in some jurisdictions the accused has the right to appear before the Grand Jury. "I truly believe that she inflicted tremendous evil on my son," Jean's mother, Allison Jean, said to reporters on Wednesday. "From the very start, I knew that she murdered him. I was not satisfied at the manslaughter charge. I look forward to the next step, which is a conviction of murder of Amber Guyger. And more so, of a penalty, the proper penalty that will cause her to reflect on what she has done and the pain that she has caused not only [to] my son, but my family, my church, my country." Do you think the DA got the parents in on this dastardly plot to bring a more serious charge in order to get the officer off scott free? How insidious!

G20: US and China agree to suspend new trade tariffs Okay, the key to Trump is that he's such a coward, that if you get him face to face you win every time. There are ways that the jury could convict on manslaughter instead of murder, but I don't know how the laws are written in TX so that might not be an option there.

This is pretty normal everywhere and why you try to prosecute a charge of manslaugher over murder if you aren't sure.

(don't ask for a goddamn machine gun, in this case, it's pretty much fine if you want a rifle, depending). Pistols are a no, shotguns are a yes, and if you've got one of those, just be careful because if you gently caress up we'll be annoyed. I'm not 100% happy with it though as I've always wanted to go rifle / target shooting and I can't. My parents used to back in the day. It used to be a working class sport.

Libertarians are shitheads, but at the heart of libertarianism is the ability to vote with your feet, and that means also relatively permissive immigration laws between countries. Also, they are generally even less fond of onerous regulations and bureaucracy than the average conservative. After all, how can John Galt and his posse form the perfect libertarian/objectivist paradise, while leaving the socialist masses behind, if immigration laws are too restrictive?

A cop murdered Philando Castile after he stated he had a legally concealed firearm and made no threatening move yet the jury couldn’t even find enough reason to charge him with manslaughter. Pardon me for being skeptical.

But the folks at Reason are mostly "real" libertarians, and it's not rare to see articles voicing genuine criticism of the current immigration laws. Just don't read the comments, which are infested with Trump fans. The only worthwhile part of Reason is mostly the Volokh Conspiracy. Especially the "Short Circuit: A Roundup of Recent Federal Court Decisions" articles. These are often interesting, sometimes funny summaries of what's going on in various federal courts.

For bolt action and lever action rifles and pump / breach load shotguns, you can buy them with a photo ID, no restrictions. Anything semi-auto or a pistol, you need a purchase permit from your local police or county sheriff.
