Gonna listen to this podcast right now but before I do I bet Warrior has more entries on this list as a performer than Hogan

you could make an entire separate bracket for Fritz Von Erich

I was at the show where Kanyon took that chairshot. Easily my least pleasant memory of any show I've been to.

Drop in the bucket at this point, but another one that could possibly land on one of the angles/kayfabe/on-air category slots for a future tournament:

WWE aired a few weeks of hype video packages for Kenzo Suzuki's original gimmick "Hirohito", explaining that a descendent of Emperor Hirohito was coming to WWE to seek revenge on the United States for the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The video packages included footage of Imperial Japanese war propaganda, the bombing of Pearl Harbor, and the aftermath of the atomic bombs.

And because IIRC he was supposed to feud w/them, around that same time was also when Benoit started being billed as from Atlanta and Jericho from NY.

w/r/t factional warfare, that "Gang Rulz" '97 Survivor Series might be the worst PPV ever that's also vitally important to the business.

from this template I'd say Wrestlemania 4 was a worse show, but Survivor Series '97 did expose how lovely their roster was when it had to have a bunch of multiman tag matches on there

I've been a racing fan my entire life and have seen/been at numerous races that continue on after drivers/fans/marshals were killed, so so OTE continuing on didn't anger me as much as it may have others. But considering how WWF handled things afterward with that farcical tribute show the next night and the footage of his funeral airing (among other stuff), they don't deserve the benefit of the doubt at all.

D'lo had a very sterotypical (and thankfully short lived) gimmick in late '02

that video package of Sting that aired on Raw and had the crowd going apeshit (before the reveal that he was just DLC for the new 2K game and completely deflating them) was p funny

What really gets me is that Russo lived through that. All of it. And Lance Storm told a story a long time ago, I think on his website, about how one night Sting was to repel from the ceiling again during Russo's tenure, and he was stressing out backstage because there wasn't enough time for the safety procedures to be followed properly between one appearance on the show and his trip to the rafters and back down again because Russo books like seventeen segments an hour and still couldn't separate the two appearances and Lance told him "just don't do it. It isn't worth your life. You're Sting. What are they gonna' do?" And he didn't do it.

After going through Over the Edge, Russo learned loving nothing from Owen's death.

Somebody should ask Lance about it on Figure Four or Twitter so we can hear all the details.

And also tried to have Bret run over a car with a monster truck. With Sid in the car. Thankfully Bret was having none of that.
