I think I have to go with Piggy James personally. The HBK thing is dumb. Mocking fans that want to give them more money is just their own idiocy. The Owen stuff almost took it.

Body shaming a woman in great shape like that I could only imagine having a horrible effect on people that already have body image issues. A lot of kids watch this dumb circus show and even if it's the bad guys doing it, it can leave an impression.

Yeah, this is the biggest one to me and I think the way it hits you really depends on if you think media influences people or not.

I get everyone wants to be on the right side of history, but guess what Wrestling is loving boring now and the ratings reflect that, you can have a moonsault royal rumble and its still not going to bring ratings.

Comedy and light hearted stuff has a place in wrestling but WWE sucks at it. They're just not funny or fun. gently caress the idea that any of the racist or sexist stuff should come back.

Like, All In had both pure wrasslin matches and also had Joey Ryan and dick druids. All types of wrestling can draw, WWE just sucks at all of them.

Its amazing that something like Vince fighting Shawn Michaels and God didn't and shouldn't make the list. WWE just constantly does horrible things.

You guys mentioned it on the podcast but it had never occurred to me that they were able to turn 'forcing talent to drive together" into a network show.

Not sure what the current situation is, but Lance Storm recently spoke about how when he came over to WWE post the WCW-Buyout, he was given a card and whenever he needed to get medical treatment in America he'd just hand it over and he'd never get any kind of bill. He didn't know the details of whatever plan or coverage he had, all he knew was,"I show them the card, they treat me, I don't get charged."

I thought that was just for an in-ring injury? He was not covered if he got sick or got hit by the car or whatever.

I went with Tiger. The steroids are bad but is a weird systemic issue. Tiger is a case of the company making GBS threads on one person a bunch of times for no good reason.

WWE constantly using the screwjob to get heat is probably worse then the actual screwjob at this point. You have to be a real poo poo company to constantly bring up "Hey, remember that time we hosed with a guys contact".

But don't you know, he could of just said no and everyone would of been adults about it. Its not like Jim Ross was also the victim of highly documented bullying while at WWE and was eventually fired for incredibly petty reasons.

He got old, his wife died, and he became a broken man out of his time. I have sympathy for him but I would be happy if he never worked again and just retired to take care of himself.

Best way to explain the Meltzer/Peyton Royce thing is that Meltzer said something dumb and thoughtless but what he intended was obvious, WWE then decided to make him sound far far worse by painting it as fat shaming and that he called Peyton fat and ugly when that obviously isn't what he said.

Gumball Gumption

Meltzer has a fatal flaw where he is totally unable to understand hyperbole, metephors, or inferences. This is the man who will reply to the phrase "He died out there" to describe a promo not getting over with "He's still alive" and mean it sincerely. He is incapable of properly beating around the bush on sensitive subjects without putting his foot in his mouth but god help him he tries.

There is a lot of hosed up stuff surrounding Owen's death but I can sort of see a non-greed argument for continuing OTE. Brawl for All was a total disregard for the health of everyone involved. In some ways it feels like the greedier move for less return. Its also another example of Vince viewing the wrestlers as his action figures to play with.

I had this same mentality, especially after Jericho put him over in his 3rd book for seeking Chris out and giving him a pep talk during a period where Chrus needed one. And maybe Chris really appreciated it, but it also might have just been smart politics.

Now I feel like it'd be just desserts if someone lit him up in the ring.

Taker seems like he has that bully mentality of "really aggressive team player". If you're on his side/in his tribe then he's going to treat you really well. If you're on the outside you're going to get wrestler court hazed/lit up with unprotected chair shots. You see that sort of personality with lots of bullies and it is why you'll hear some people talk about how amazing someone is while others have horrific stories about them.

Know what's something I just thought of that makes Owen's death worse? WWE learned nothing from it. They still do stunts that should be practiced and trained for in one go. I remember Sami Zayn talking about the Hell in a Cell where he saves Kevin Owens from Shane McMahon falling on him. According to Sami they didn't practice that or time it our or anything, they were just told "Oh yeah, just move when Shane starts falling". Owens death didn't convince them that they should spend money and time on the incredibly dangerous stunts they'll ask wrestlers to do. They still have them doing insane poo poo with no oversight or protection.

Lol, I voted for road costs because wwe has hosed people on them for years and years. They're making billions and still gently caress them on food, travel, and hotels. They've made a show for the network that takes advantage of the fact that they're loving them. Owens death was horrible and an instance of WWE being cheapskates and not valuing the life of their workers. The road cost stuff is WWE being cheapskates, not valuing the life of their workers, and then making a tv show where they show you how happy everyone is to get hosed.

Like, both options are incredibly bad things done by scum gently caress people but if I've personally got to pick one I'm picking WWE stealing from hundreds of their employees over however many years.

Once again I feel like I'm losing my mind in this thread.

Years ago I brought up the treatment of Kanyon and a bunch of people dismissed it, saying that the WWE were not responsible for his mental health, his suicide, etc. And the fact that he committed suicide so long after his release means Vince and company aren't at fault.

What was the tipping point over the last few years? Greatest Royal Rumble? Crown Jewel?

A pretty high change in the way people look at suicide and mental health in the last 9 years.

Lance Storm said he was given a card that paid all his medical expenses. I think it's a thing where Vince takes care of you......But he could suddenly stop at any minute, especially if you do him wrong.

It's like how alumni get paid rehab.....unless they don't. It's also a thing where it makes him seem magnanimous, compared to if he just gave insurance, where he would just look like a normal employer.

My understanding of Lance Storm's story is that if you got hurt in the ring you'd get the card that made the bills disappear. But if you get sick, get cancer, get hit by a car and you're no longer able to work for them that's on you unless Vince is feeling generous.

And either way that's hosed up, your availability to healthcare shouldn't be based on the whims of an insane millionaire.
