Mickie has admitted she was difficult to deal with at the time and she was drinking heavily at the time hence the weight gain. Was overtly messing around with Cena and management didn't like too.

In summary, WWE was clearly in the right.

The writer of the Charlotte/Paige Reid segment on a podcast said Charlotte was the one who pitched the idea of Paige mentioning Reid in her promo. No one bullied Charlotte into doing that storyline like Ric Flair mentioned. Actually burst into tears about the Ric thing.

Wish I could find the initial WWE Network upload link of the Reid exploitation Raw.

Bix made a lot of the scripting of the segment and dorks gave him abuse over objecting to the scripting to Reid being called weak.

The script title of that Raw was revealed weeks later to be like Darwinism Always Wins or something like that.

Charlotte is terrible. Look at her moonsaults, chops and choice of fellas.

The prosecution rests.

Or domestic abuse. Hasn't happened on the main roster but it has NXT.

Taryn Terrell has admitted fault in that situation. She was really troubled. Her current partner is an angle pretty much that saved her. Her and Drew are on friendly terms to my knowledge.

Creatively Drew buried himself not knowing how to approach WWE writers. Would address them in a commanding manner. This tall and had an interrogative Scottish accent. When a suggestive stance was WAY better.

The Kanyon stuff is just incomprehensible. It didn't help him with what he had been doing before (the DDP feud was long over; was DDP even still with the company at this point?), it didn't help Taker in his legendary feud with HEYMAN, BIG SHOW AND THE A-TRAIN, and it was obviously not designed to re-introduce Kanyon to a new audience after the Invasion. There should be room on almost any roster for a Chris Kanyon - a guy who can put on a decent match, be fairly entertaining, and make other wrestlers look great. I literally can't explain it beyond simple gay bashing. The best alternative explanation I can think of is that Vince was punishing him for having the guts to be injured. Either way it's a special kind of workplace bullying.

Kanyon setting aside his sexuality and the darkest end of his mental health if we can he was simply just a goofy dude. He was really neurotic I could see why certain people would mess with him as he'd offer an amusing reaction. I don't mean hitting him with an unprotected chairshot obviously more moving his coffee cup/tugging his tail.

His autobiography and the shoot interview Raven and the Sinister Minister after his funeral has always stayed with me. He just couldn't except himself or that people loved him for who he is. All his issues and hang-ups created this untanglable thing.

But yeah Hedgehog Pie Kanyon was a gif wrestler before gifs existed. Very creative and innovate. And attitude wise a frontrunner to most of today's wrestlers.

Kanyon would have been a big indy star. Just ahead of his time.

Helped a bunch of people very early on in their careers and had an idea where US Wrestling was going in the 00's - 3 Count and Yung Dragons in WCW and later in his life Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins. There's probably a bunch others I have forgotten.

How many black wrestlers haven’t been saddled without some sort of stereotype gimmick at one point or another in the WWE? Cedric Alexander is the only one I can think of off hand.

Very interested in how they use ACH and Shane Stickland in NXT as they will both be on the roster at the same time. The singles division is already stacked, both can actually dance and African American wrestlers tend to be put together in WWE/North American TV Wrestling.

I believe that to be true going by what I read at the time.

Karlee Perez (Maxine in WWE/Catrina in Lucha Underground) around the same time was squeezed out of WWE as after getting called up to the main roster they wouldn't upgrade her contract from her FCW one.

I mean, I have no idea if this is a real deal business investment or some distraction for a listless silver spooned heir. But the sugar daddy and money is all there if they want it.

ONE person who has worked for several Wrestling companies over the decades said to me today that

a) Tony Khan wants WCW Nitro - obviously Tuesday Night Dynamite, negotiating with TNA etc.

b) It will be like WCW if Eric Bischoff was Ted Turner's son.

Now I'm wondering how WWE's 3rd Saudi Event will go.
Was there friction involving WWE downplaying the propaganda in the Western Broadcast between KSA and WWE?
Will they have the unmitigated brass to assume the "Coast's Clear" and start plugging the Saudi angle and the propaganda again?
Or will we never heard the words "Saudi Arabia" on a WWE broadcast again as they quietly pocket MBS's money for the next decade?

Voted GRR because it was an event so heinous it killed diehards.

One for your list is will talent quietly request not to go like Finn Balor did. Various Wrestling news outlets reported that the payoffs for Crown Jewel weren't great. Especially those for non-main event talent.

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver returns in time for the next show too.

The member's site of the PWTorch.com has a bunch of local radio shows from the time via Wade Keller's own radio show on KFAN in Minnesota and John Arezzi's Pro Wrestling Spotlight out of New York.

Both are amazing time capsules. Both hosts went from chatting with wrestlers in a mix of kayfabe and non-kayfabe to when the scandals hit going very hard news. It all took a real toll on an over his head Arezzi as WWF then issued several reprisals - blocking guests and going after sponsors. A lot of listeners didn't get it at all either.

But listening to them it r-e-a-l-l-y felt at the time it was really curtains for WWE. It was a different and less sophisticated time in certain ways. A lot of podcasts these days are just honed narrative building and really cynical and jaded. But the two radio shows are more naive and are just reacting to the situation at hand.
