Helianthus Annuus posted:laughing about how some computer janitor over at VLC HQ would rather reconfigure nginx to redirect away from this disgraceful bug report than slap an SSL cert on the update server and call it good they don’t control the update servers. they use rando mirrors provided by other people and then check that the signature is correct rather than trusting the server. the claims about the signature check being broken were incorrect
