Horrible idea to put any money on that game either way. It had all the makings of a trap game and after last week I'm not surprised at all that the Eagles pulled it off.

not when you look at who they beat. three teams in freefall and the Broncos isn't an impressive resume. I'd say they're solidly average though

According to several reporters, it's a common conception in NFL management that the first 2 to 3 games are extended preseason since the changes in how often teams can practice in the off-season and the types of practices they can undertake.

When we're talking about the present, a team that won 4 of their last 5 is more of a challenge to beat than a team that's 8-6 but lost their last four games. If you really want to argue with me on this, which would be dumb, please tell me 16 teams or more that are better than the Browns right now. You can't do it, meaning they're above average

Like I have nothing wrong with sports betting, but  it produces some hilarity.

Which makes me think I need an SAS Sports Betting thread....not for advice (well at least not from me) or anything just hilarious outcomes.

There was one that was moderately active two years ago until like week 8 when everybody was losing money and stopped, lol. I'll look for a link back to that.

I played around on an overseas sportsbook and ended up effectively breaking even after fees (up like $20 after doing it on and off for about a year and a half), but I would have ended up way ahead if I never touched football.

This Steelers/Dolphins game was one of my biggest losses along with a game prop bet on Jusuf Nurkic in a regular season game vs. the Pelicans that looked too good to be true, the absurdly fixed first boxing match between GGG/Canelo, and the outcome of the 2016 presidential election. Biggest wins were Daniel Cormier > Stipe Miocic, KU > Texas Tech in their second matchup last year (underdogs even with Keenan Evans injured), and the absolute highlight was hitting a $10 +1800 prop bet on the royal wedding (whether Gina Torres from Suits would attend).

E: Here's that (archived) thread

Eh, it's not like I can't control it or anything, since I cashed out in July I haven't gambled on anything. (I'd go Saints -6 tonight if I were though~)

Teams drop stupid games sometimes, it happens. Especially against teams in their division. The Saints lost to Tampa week 1 but no one is saying Tampa is the better team.

Also Miami Tennessee and Minnesota have been in playoff contention late in the season. Like actual playoff contention, and not needing multiple miracle scenarios to play out.
