Once I was so bored that I read the xkcd forums. There was a thread there complaining about a crude and unpleasant xkcd parody on a site called Something Awful. I followed the link, because anything had to be better than the xkcd forums- and I found a whole new world of the Nightmares Fear Factory, zoofights, milhist threads and Photoshops Friday. And I never left. (Took me half a decade to buy an account, but whatever.) That's my courageous story.
