They might have wanted to accelerate because getting to the later stuff means more action, which is usually a safer bet on sales. I really don't think it was the right call, but it's what we're stuck with. Hopefully people keep picking up the manga/LN stuff, because at this rate they're missing so much. I don't think there's much to worry about with that. LN adaptations in the past decade are generally used as 1/2 cour advertisements for the source material. It's why we very rarely see any animated to conclusion like we used to (like with Toradora)
