The Iron Rose posted:I think Warren is an idiot but I'll vote for anyone with a D beside their name and you all drat well better too in 2020. So while you might continue to support whoever has your party's initial next to their name, other people who can't stomach it will sit out. If an even worse opponent wins at that point, I'd blame the group that enabled the bad rep, not those that sat out. Your vote is an important thing and should be treated as such.

Briefly attended a couple churches with the family as a kid, but we never really stuck to it and I didn't really understand what the whole "god" thing was all about until after I learned that Santa Claus isn't real, so lifelong atheist, here. I really wish the collosal shitbirds that keep vociferously claiming to represent non-belief and skepticism in public discourse would all go die in a fire. In my teens, I stumbled across a YouTube channel with a pretty narrow focus on the word of the Bible and the problems inherent in it, but then found my "recommended" videos filled with racist, proto-alt-right, misogynists claiming to be voices of reason. So glad that I noped out of that immediately. As for Venezuela: Chavez and Maduro are kleptocratic scumbags that only filled the bellies of the poor to stay in power while lining their own pockets. As a socialist myself, I consider them a prime example of why we must not let populist rhetoric and meager handouts blind us to the need to hold our representatives accountable.

As evidenced by Twitter, she also turns conversations amongst liberals and leftists absolutely rancid. One can complain about whether that's fair or not, but her most partisan proponents and opponents among potential Democratic voters drown everything else out with their constant bitching about how their side is so virtuous and above the fray and how the other side engages in vicious, unreasonable attacks. She and everyone around her should know this, remove all ambiguity about her running, and say she'll help move the country forward in different ways. Bernie should do the same. That way, the next time you run into someone that thinks it's still 2015 and is angry about it, you can tell them to shut the gently caress up and focus on the future. (That's not to say there weren't faults with the Democratic Party that the whole process shined a light on, just that we shouldn't get mired in hero-worship/villain-loathing)

Best Friends posted:One of my biz school mentors was a super rich guy from the area and yeah this is absolutely a thing they believe. Schultz thinks he's a liberal because he put the NRA on that list and he might have gay friends. The mega rich guy idea space is to the right of trump on a lot of things.
