The Army ROTC recruiter spammed my university e-mail account at least a dozen times over my last semester this fall even after I repeatedly told her that I'm a. in my mid 30s, b. in my last semester before graduation, and c. VA rated to the point that there's no way I'd pass a commissioning physical. It's really not a good look for the Army that she was so incompetent as to keep spamming me over and over when I'm obviously not interested or a qualified candidate. Speaking of the earlier ROTC conversation... The ROTC recruiter (some SGT who I'm assuming is Guard/Reserve AGR or on ADOS orders) just loving e-mailed my university e-mail account again. This time I replied mentioning the other nearly dozen times I've told her why I'm not eligible (namely I just loving graduated) or interested and CCed who I'm assuming is her NCOIC and also CCed the program's military science professor.

When I mobilized as an individual at Fort Bliss in 2014 they had different lines for people going to Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait/wherever else in CENTCOM. While we were mostly going into those lines they put out an announcement for the Ebola people to go get in another line, pretty sure everyone on my side was the real version of at all the people getting sent to deal with Ebola.

I'd rather eat good bread/pastries/fruit/whatever than a pound of eggs and cheese, however the bread is hard to come by in the US. Not like Europe where you can just walk into any random corner bakery or grocery store and get something good.

orange juche posted:The biggest concern I have about this is the natsec angle. You could use my phone to track my comings and goings, and it doesn't even have to be a smartphone, a 20 dollar AT&T burner can be tracked just as easily, and I'm sure you can track OnStar just the same, as it has a cell modem built into it. You can establish a most likely route for my daily travel and my routine of being in and out of the house (the data request includes the home address of the account!) and then plan an intercept of me or my family for whatever nefarious poo poo you were planning to do, like pressure someone into becoming an insider threat. lol and people were worried about the police with IMSI catchers. Don't need any of that fancy tech when the phone company sells your realtime location data to just about anyone. The implications yeah, pretty easy to build a pattern of life on someone for whatever bad purpose. I'm sure Congress will get right on putting in some very restrictive privacy laws for social media and telecom companies. And who knows what kind of location data FB, Google, etc. are hoovering up by other methods.
