It's January. The transfer window is now open in most leagues. There have been some signings. There will be a lot of transfer rumors. Most will be false. The only transfers your club will do this month will be sending some U-21 players to League One clubs. Unless you are talking about Chelsea, because they're selling Cesc to some Turkish or Chinese or UAE club.

Maybe someone will hold up a dildo on TV in Watford's parking lot on January 31st, so we do have that to look forward to.

Here are some thrilling transfers that happened already

Arsenal apparently have no money, and Aaron Ramsey is going to go to one of the big European clubs on a free. It’s very cool.

Klopp's 13pts clear thanks to video ref

Not sure Liverpool are going to sign anyone. There were talks about getting in another center back with the injuries to Matip and Gomez but I think both of those weren't as bad as first feared so we'll probably make do until they're back. There's been some talk about Rabiot but I'm not entirely sure how concrete they are - the reports are all coming from the French side so it might be a case of trying to drum up some interest. The only other thing we've been linked to is an early deal for some kind of attacker to come in the summer. Pulisic and Werner are the most obvious candidates and the rumours just won't go away. It's the kind of deal Klopp likes and with a bit of an exodus expected in the summer (Sturridge and Origi are both expected to leave) we do need backup in that area.

We had not left it yet, but when I would wake in the night, I would lie, listening, homesick for it already.

Would be very keen on a central defender and a creative midfielder. Hopefully we can ship ozil off to China or something to pay for it.

Expecting that we make zero signings though

Chelsea signed Pulisic.

Edit: beaten, so for content - do they even really need another attacking midfielder? Seems like they love laying down money on players they wont use.

It could mean that he may be the replacement for Eden Hazard next season if Hazard leaves for like Madrid.

And Pedro and Willian are old but most importantly it blocks a young player from the youth setup coming through and we always have to do that.

Regarding United and Sanchez as much as I enjoyed his doing nothing, being a bitter Arsenal fan, I reckon he'll look a lot better in a system that is about fast attacking.

That Fiorentina signing looks like fat Ronaldo before he got fat (or bald)

I did not sign my post.

I'd also be interested to see how Sanchez does under Ole, given every other attacking player thus far has looked like a new signing since Mourinho left.

Yep, probably end up selling Hudson-Odoi to a Bundesliga club and then try to buy him back 24 months later at 10 times the price.

This is the concern. We could have de Bruyne and Salah at the club. Such shortsighted management.

It’s rumored Chelsea have accepted 18 mil from Wolves for striker Tammy Abraham currently on loan.

Seems a lot of money for an unproven player at this level, but it’s not my money I guess.

I'm not sure why everyone is so meh about Pulisic. He's easily in the top 10 to 20 players under 23 in world football right now.

There are 4 wide attacking players at Chelsea currently, of which 2 are old and should be phased out, and the other 2 have 18 months left on their contracts and haven't signed new deals yet.

I imagine if this transfer had been announced 6 months ago when Pulisic was in form, people would be much less critical

He's a flat track bully who can only do it for good teams against poo poo defences. If he's not getting 4 or 5 good chances a game he's not going to score many, classic Championship specialist.

Looks like it will be a busy window for Chelsea. Batshuayi, Zappacosta, Drinkwater, Moses, and Cesc all seem likely to move. And there's also the Morata for Higuaín swap that's been in the papers for a couple weeks

I've only seen him play a few times, which is the only real way to gauge a player, so feel free to disregard my opinion - but his numbers arent exactly stellar. I'm sure he's good and will develop well, he's only 20, but 58m is a lot of cash for 4 goals and 6 assists in the Bundesliga last year (when he was in form, I guess?)

The signing is less of a mystery to me on being reminded that Willian and Pedro are getting on a bit, and Hazard is probably off to Madrid, but I can't help feeling that there would be a lot less excitement about Pulisic if he was from Croatia.

It is a lot for him, and the prospect of selling shirts in the USA no doubt factored in, but that doesn't mean it won't be a good move for him/Chelsea in the long run.

At this point I’d say the Americans who follow the national team but not the EPL are not going to be convinced to start following Chelsea. If you’re watching the national team, odds are you’re watching the EPL already since it is much more accessible with the NBC deal.

I'm an American who follows the EPL, but I don't actively watch matches every weekend. I'll tune into Chelsea matches on the regular if he's likely to play.
