Recently re-watched Heaven Sent/Hell Bent and still shocked people liked it. I feel it was peak Doctor Who head-up-its-own rear end. This is more so the actual finale of Hell Bent. The whole hybrid plot was a massive mistake/waste of time.

Catherine Tate was on the newest David Tennant podcast. They spend the last 15 minutes or so talking about Doctor Who. I thought it was pretty interesting none of the Doctor Who staff thought Tate would agree to come back for the 4th Series, but when she did - they axed another companion/storyline they had planned out. It's also great how little Doctor Who she has watched or understood.

The resolution of her storyline/arc and the mystique around Clara never had a satisfactory payoff to me and generally took me out of the show and I didnt come back until Jodie. Part of that too was probably just exasperation of how I felt the show was going under Moffat and was already weary in the last year of Matt Smith. Going back to watch the last Capaldi year was pretty refreshing though.
