FWIW during last year's Ubisoft Forward event they had a reusable coupon for £10/$10 off that worked even on the Season 3 pass, which at that point had only released Docklands and Tourist Season. This was in early June.

This is live now btw, LEGEND22 for £10/$10 off a basket of at least £15/$15. Currently broken in the UK but working elsewhere, it brings Season 4 down to just over half price.

It's a known issue unfortunately:

https://trello.com/b/rldv58ho/anno1800-known-issues-board

quote:

Description: The newspaper article that increases residents' needs by 10% because of Schnapps Shortage in the New World island can appear in game even before Schnapps demand is created in the New World due to Hacienda Residencies.

I believe it's been in the game since GU14 but wasn't known about until GU15 was on the way (maybe after?) and then didn't make 15.1 either.

Highly recommend the Enbesan Envoy added in this dlc. He replaces New World inputs for some Artista needs with Enbesan inputs (beeswax instead of coconut oil for perfume, for example), but then he also boosts productivity and gives 1 extra good every 2 cycles. Even more nuts he can be used on the input buildings for the same effect, so my ten or so apiaries are making 58 tons a minute with just him and a seed drill, no tractors.

Oh and you can just buy him from Isabel too!

Footballs require Nandu LEATHER, which is produced by those farms, powered or not. When they're powered they then additionally produce Nandu FEATHERS, which are used in later chains. It could be a lot better indicated. The whole dlc has little things like that, like the aforementioned two different power plants.

The patch today claims to have fixed the desyncs that were specifically brought in by New World Rising. Also they added Artistas to the balance tracker but lol:

Not sure if they consider the delivery distance thing a bug but it feels like with NWR it should be. IIRC this is a film reel being delivered to a cinema which isn't a massive problem on Manola, but on a regular NW island jalea kitchens will pull goods from miles away, so they only work if I have my calamari fisheries, corn+herb farms and electrified production centre all near each other

If you set up a trade route from island A to island B and leave it running, you can then go to the Storage screen and find the route under the Trade Routes tab and work out the average time from there, like so:

But all the previous posts are correct that you don't need this info, you just need more/better ships/docks, and to dump excess cargo on mixed cargo routes.

Oh, turns out you can share stamps, the patch notes are just a little ambiguous. People are already sharing them in the subreddit and discord, and they're appropriately tiny. You just need these folders:

Which you can create manually, or have the game do automatically when you first use the stamp tool within a given region.

You can just use Gordon the Master Grocer in your New World town halls anyway. It's especially silly on Hacienda Artistas, $60 a house.

Each season pass contains 3 dlc, and is priced roughly the same as buying 2 of them individually, so you're getting one for "free". The scenarios are either free or included with the season 4 dlcs.

Well each expedition has a difficulty rating which affects item rarity and is set in a certain area of the world which affects the pool it pulls from. So it's not entirely random - if you do a 3 star zoo expedition to the Arctic, you're more likely to come back with a Narwhal or whatever. But it's still so highly random as to not really be worth doing, if you can just research it instead.

You can zoom out to the world map to see where the expedition is going to.

Is there a way to find specific building on your island other than hovering over building it and manually staring for the icons that pop up?

Like I'd love to be able to just find all the breweries on an island, search for them, tab from one to another, stuff like that. Would make it a lot easier to find and move them to trade unions, for example.

If you select something in the production, population or finance screens, you can get a zoom-to button on the right pane. You can also tab between identical buildings by selecting one and hitting the tab key (added a patch or two ago I think?) but that's about it sadly.

AI is great for making the world feel busier but good lord why does everyone except Bente and Qing batter you with negative leaflets even when you're pals? Eventually I just modded their propaganda to have no effect because otherwise it's nobody but those two, wiping them out, or dealing with skewed production stats because they keep tanking your industry.

You've asked her recently and she's said no, and is "annoyed about the topic". Until that goes away (it's a long cooldown) she won't sign those agreements.

It's very dumb. For future reference the best way to treaty with pirates is to sign back-to-back ceasefires until your rep is like 70, then chain nonaggression into trade rights. Then to keep rep up, use a trade route to buy their guns and sell them to Isabel.

Mod browser update is live, restart your game if the button doesn't appear on the main menu. Hopefully there's a concerted effort to copy mods from nexusmods to mod.io so you don't have to mix and match too much.

The National Park DLC can be used to make little moats around Old Town DLC castles!

You need to unlock Artistas.

This means you'll have to deliver sewing machines at least once to upgrade Obreros.

You can get a specialist at Eli's that lets you skip 3 of the High Life chains.

And then you realise one is a lifestyle need for the New World

And then you install a mod that makes another also a lifestyle need

And then you think "well I'm using a town hall slot to skip a single chain, might as well set it back up and free the slot"

Outside of doing stuff with routes and advanced piers, you need to mess around with items quite a lot. Here's some options for improving loading speed:

Airships

Airship Cargo Loader - bought at Eli/Research Institute
Royal Airship Stamp Mimic - crafted at Old Nate (Arctic)/purchase at Grand Gallery
Dedicated Airship Hoist - crafted at Old Nate (Arctic)/purchase at Grand Gallery
Particularly Pull-y Pulley - crafted at Old Nate (Arctic)

Platform

Airship Logistician [Trade Union] - bought at Eli/Research Institute
Hogarth the Harbourmaster [Harbourmaster's Office] - reward for Cape Trelawney main quest (only one per save)

For mods, these two are available through the in game mod browser, just search by name.

https://mod.io/g/anno-1800/m/arctic-captains
- Adds new captains in the Arctic session as rewards for the main quest, expeditions or purchased at Qumaq.

https://mod.io/g/anno-1800/m/airships-use-ship-items-serp
- Allows airships to use regular ship items. Haven't tried it personally since it appeared yesterday but in theory it would let you hit high loading speeds very easily.

For the cosmetic packs specifically, Pedestrian Zone and National Park both have really good modular ornaments (canals and lakes respectively) that are well worth a grab.

Old Town has two types of modular castle walls and new building skins (there's also modpack that builds on it) that work well for lower tier areas.

What do people think of the Fiesta Pack? Last time I spruced up the new world it felt a little lacking, you get the season 4 stuff and that's about it.

Dunno about the Fiesta pack but honestly the more packs you have the more they build off of each other.

Yeah I love combining National Parks and Old Town to make castles with a moat. I was wondering about the Fiesta pack because I've been doing the New World Tourism mod recently and it's hard to do NW beauty building with just the ornaments that came in Season 4, without it ending up looking like the Old World anyway.

Completely unrelated, here's a tiny island build I did earlier this year. IIRC this was a single island game until Engineers? and the only mods were skins for the Church and Town Hall. I really don't remember but I think it's very cute and really stretches the limit of what you can do with specialists.

Buy steel don't make it, it's not worth making at the artisan level. Hugh sells steel.

This is absolutely one of the biggest stumbling blocks early game so it shouldn't pass without further comment (although I think you meant Archie lol)

The steel production chain is a massive spike in both maintenance cost and workforce, so as well as potentially going into the red you need to further expand your workforce - costing more building materials and goods production - to supply something you can buy for $150 a ton.

In a game where generally speaking growth is king and more is better, it's dead weight at the time it comes in (like Canned Food) so just skip it.

There's a limit on how many expeditions you can have stacked up, could it be that? If all the ones you've got waiting are non-rescue just hover and hit the trashcan to delete them, eventually you'll get some you want.

I use this to clear rank 3 early game when my crappy ships can't handle it.
