If this is a fresh Firefox install, it has built in tracking protection you need to disable for the forums for tweet embeds to work.

You've got it backwards, the turbo button speeds the PC up and was intended to be be left on all the time, on should only have been turned off if a particular app wasn't working correctly.
Turbo mode is when the pc ran at full speed, but the button could be wired up either way.

it seems that tweets flagged as NSFW, or from accounts marked as NSFW in general (regardless of the content of the tweet) won't embed anymore

The forums intentionally don't embed things in posts that use the :nws: smilie, maybe that's your problem?

Same for me. In addition to that, I have an app that redirects to a Nitter instance when I open Twitter.com links, but which doesn't do the same for x.com.
You can now add the Redirector add-on to Firefox for Android and make a rule to send x links to nitter. Had to do this because Untrackme also only works with twitter links.

If it's a fresh Firefox install, you need to disable enhanced tracking protection for the site you want to see the embeds on. So on the forums, go to the little shield left of the url and do the thing.
