One time in Helsinki there was a bit of a fuss about how school ending ceremony was going to be held in the church even though school should be a non-religious thing. Can't remember if it was Orpo or Vapaavuori who wondered that what difference does it make? Church is a large room, where else are you going to find a place that fits all these school children. Holy temple of christianity has absolutly nothing religious about it. Not even Soviet Union thought it this way. Stalin tried to suppress christianity but instead he should've convert all orthodox people to lutherans.

Stalinhan nimenomaan pakotti papiston NKVDn alaisuuteen ja kuuliaisiksi orjiksi, kyllähän seminaarin mies tiesi mitä teki. Ja Suomessakin on ihan riittämiin hihhuliuskovia, minun sukulaispoikani oli ala-asteen järjestämässä tilaisuudessa jossa aika yllättäin ruvettiin kertomaan helvetin tulesta ja muista mukavista. Ja siksi toiseekseen, KD nauttii suunnilleen samaa kannatusta kuin RKP, ja kuinka moni meistä tuntee jonkun joka puhuu svensk?

Jo pelkästään tänä vuonna ollut useampi juttu lehdissä nuorista (ja erityisesti nuorista miehistä) jotka avoimesti tunnustaa uskoa ja puhuu siitä termein joita ei kyllä tapakristittyelämässä kuule. Parin viime vuoden sisään oli myös merkkejä jonkinlaisesta karismaattisesta/maallikkosaarnaajameiningeistä, joskaan niistä ei nyt mitään kauheaa followuppia ole nähnyt. en mä yhtään ylläty jos nykyisellä tahdilla ristit ja Jeesus alkaisi tehdä paluuta myös ihan avoimesti päivänpolitiikan puolelle

I don't know what else to say besides you apparently are living in some sort of an atheist bubble. I mean it not as a judgement but I, for example, live in a different bubble. I'm a kindergarten teacher in a daycare that gathers all the kids in the area and every single one of them attends the local parish päiväkerho, to the point that it is much easier for us to provide a space from our building, since we aren't using it during that time anyway. Finland is big enough for a lots of different kinds of communities.

My kids came home believing all kinds of jesus bullshit from school. Their teacher(s) are apparently religious. I told them Jesus is as real as Santa Claus. They've been teasing their mom with Jesus because she's a buddhist

Does anyone know of a comprehensive list or something that shows how taxation in Finland has been decreased for the rich? I know of the reduction of Yhteisövero in 2014 as one example. But others? I guess a lot of things are more diffuse than straight tax cuts too.
