Like yeah the team won’t boycott wholesale because our QB and leadership are MAGA idiots but it’s far from unanimous. Pales in comparison to his meltdown over the Eagles, though, true.

Boston did chase the Proud Boys out of town with a 10,000 to 50 turnout advantage and when some kid threw a rock through the Holocaust memorial he was tackled by a witness and held for police. Also when a bunch of out of town racists beat up Keytar bear and called him the N word a go fund me bought him all new equipment. So there's good and bad I guess. Boston, Providence, Hartford, Portland, and the other big cities in New England are pretty blue. Head out of that and you're in conservative country.* I grew up in Northern Maine & joked that Maine is just the Yankee version of Missouri, which isn't far from the truth. *this could be said about any part of the United States IMO.

The downside to MA being so overwhelming liberal is that the very small conservative minority is probably some of the worst people in the country because they’ve become so radicalized due to feeling constantly besieged.

Every state in NE is the same way as the rest of the country. Very blue in the urban areas and increasingly red the further out you go. The difference from the rest of the country is that the amount of people living in the rural areas is inconsequential to the cities, so they effectively have very little voice. Boston is uniquely racist of course, due to the segregation and failed social polices of the mid 20th century. Trying to frame Patriots fans as Trump supports is dumb, because despite having a segment of the population that are a bunch of racists the city of Boston is overwhelming blue and voted as such. And that's ignoring the fact that it's the New England Patriots, and not the Boston Patriots. Like, seriously trying to call New England some kind of hotbed of MAGA supporters is nonsensical. You'd have to be in denial about how much your own state or team is in bed with Trump to do that. Impossibly Perfect Sphere fucked around with this message at 23:36 on Jan 27, 2019 |
