I make synthpunk/post-punk/new wave under the name Faustbot. My first album, Synthetic Noise, was written and recorded largely after getting laid off last year and is the more synth heavy of the two. Hunting Season is the favorite of my metal head friends, Masks Off the favorite of my punk friends, and Scratch a Liberal is the most popular all around, what with it's fun, tango feel. My second album, Technicolor Dreamboat comes out 7/9, with two songs available for preview now. Introduction was written to be just that, and is a great place to start; if you like that, chances are you'll like the rest. See Ya In Hell, Chief was originally called I'm Sick of Elon Musk's Stupid loving Face and has one of my favorite synth sounds on the album. This album is more guitar driven than the first, but still keeps the Faustbot sound intact. I also have a bunch of odds and ends songs here: https://soundcloud.com/michaelnixmusic/tracks These songs range from 70'w car chase funk, to straight early 2000's pop punk, to lofi 80's goth rock, to a Trve Cvlt Svrf original playing on how black metal is surf rock with distortion and wailing. M going to go through this thread more when I have time, but so far, great stuff everyone!

Trig Discipline posted:God drat, this rules. 2DCAT posted:This is very good op Thanks! It was a lot of work, but I'm proud of the result. I did everything on it, including the cover art after a buddy I had contracted to do it had a hard drive die on him. I think my next project is going to be a YouTube series on how to record release ready tracks on as little money as possible. I already have a few songs recorded for that, and then my OS died on me.

I just released a new synthpop/punk/new wave EP about the ongoing global pandemic everyone forgot: https://faustbot.bandcamp.com/album/the-covid-ep Unlike previous releases, I completely eschewed guitars and focused entirely on programmed instruments. Covid knocked me out completely for two weeks to the point I couldn't play a live instrument, so I used that as a restriction. Song topics all loop back to covid, but range from personal experience, informative, and fictional narratives, with my wife calling Sneak a Peek in particular, "loving gross." It's available now at the Bandcamp link above, and will be streaming as soon as those services decide to take it live.
