Been working on this cold war nostalgia EP for quite a while, it's done, and now it's out, because today seemed auspicious for that. Lofi hip-hop instrumentals.

This is extremely my poo poo. I also make a lot of boombap beats with samples so its nice seeing someone else doing it really well. The overall production and mixing is really good man and your sampling/drums make me a bit jealous. What do you use to make beats?

Thanks a lot man! I have been on Ableton for about ten years now. Drums are a mix of loops and chopped stuff, whatever the track needs at that point. I will PM you a dl code.

This is a quick little sample-flip I did for a contest where we had to flip David Axelrod's "Holy Thursday". That track has almost infinite possibilities when it comes to sampling, but I ended up making something relatively simple and funky.

I like it man! Did you do the scratches on a table or w/a program or what? I have a nice pioneer CD-J I’ve used for scratches in the past but it’s a pain to set up and have to burn poo poo to use so I’ve been casually keeping an eye out for something easier to work into my workflow.

Thanks! I did the scratches myself on my vinyl turntable + mixer and recorded directly into Ableton. Although I have to admit I recorded like 10 minutes of scratching to get a couple of bars that sounded halfway decent. I'm trying to practice scratching when I find time because I really like the texture it can add to beats.

Man that’s the way to do it! I record 20 minute long keyboard jams and end up using about 8 bars of them. I should see if my CD-j has midi, I could probably get something to work with going.

Just released my second selec album, called WHITE LABELS

It’s a bunch of sample heavy ambient, house, jungle and big beat, all the poo poo I came up in in the mid-late 90s.

Didn’t post this when I put it up, but I made a mixtape of songs I loved that I remixed. It’s very reggae/dub/rap heavy

FEATURING: Donnie Hathaway, Bruce Springsteen, Tommy James and the Shondells, Cassie, Natalie Merchant, The Talking Heads, Aaliyah, Mark Morrison, and Kendrick Lamar

Hi! My band Piranha Rama just released a new album. It’s kind of a blend of psych/soul/country, I guess? Hope you like it!
