This is the one that convinced me cybersecurity in any form is an absolutely lost cause: A man triggers a code execution exploit in Super Mario World for SNES and then reprograms the game to become Flappy Bird, entirely with manual controller inputs on original hardware

AMI’s claim of newsworthiness is that the photos are necessary to show Amazon shareholders that my business judgment is terrible. I founded Amazon in my garage 24 years ago, and drove all the packages to the post office myself. Today, Amazon employs more than 600,000 people, just finished its most profitable year ever, even while investing heavily in new initiatives, and it’s usually somewhere between the #1 and #5 most valuable company in the world. I will let those results speak for themselves.

Wells Fargo's entire retail banking system had it's second extended nationwide outage of the week today. All their clients already hate them and having debit cards, online banking, and even in person branch tellers totally unable to process transactions or check balances for an entire thursday is gonna bring enough pain for people to finally make the effort to switch.

I think we might see an honest to god bank run once people start hitting their lunch hour / going home from work tomorrow.

Meanwhile my epitome of Dunning-Kruger self will blurt our poo poo regardless of the situation or if I have any understanding of the subject matter. In 2012 the Mormon church clarified its policy on caffeine, paving the way for Thursday's decision.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as it is formally known, determined that a reference to "hot drinks" in religious texts only applied to tea and coffee, not all caffeine products.

The decision occurred around the time that Mitt Romney was spotted swigging a Diet Coke during his presidential campaign against Barack Obama, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.

as an aside I really do feel fortunate to live in a time when we can watch a religion going through its awkward teenage phase, clearly established enough to have staying power but still fluid and evolving because the OG prophet is only a generation or two removed from living memory. At the same stage in Christianity's history the gospels hadn't even been written yet.

"Freezone Scientology" as practiced outside the Church of Scientology organization is definitely also one of the 5 under 500 new religious movements to watch!
