STRONG as an OX and TWICE as SMART
This’ll be my last season watching DCFC since I’m moving in July. Allez les Rouges!

It happens in the EPL all the time with teams’ obligations in domestic and international cups.

If anyone wants to watch some fourth division soccer today, you'd find it hard to beat the match-up between Detroit City FC and AFC Ann Arbor.

DCFC is 8-0-2 in their last 10, which included 844 minutes without conceding a goal. They gave up 3 goals in their home opener, and did not concede again until Friday night. They then managed to score a dramatic tying goal at the death.

They drew AFCAA earlier in the season, and a win today for either team would secure a playoff spot. A draw would allow Grand Rapids FC a chance to claw back in, as they have a guaranteed win today against the garbage of FC Indiana.

This is about the closest thing the Midwest NPSL has to a rivalry, and the stakes are "high".

Jesus I had forgotten that DCFC lost that game 3-2

They’ve given up two other goals the entire season, including the garbage time one from today. By far the best defensive effort this team has ever shown.

I unfortunately just moved to New York, so I’ll miss their playoff run. But hey, I can rep some rouge and gold when they play the Cosmos this Fall.

DCFC’s goalie, Hunter Morse, saved two PKs in the NPSL final against Cleveland.

DCFC lost 3-2 thanks to missing not one, not two, but three PKs well over the crossbar. Honestly, the worst PK performance I’ve ever seen.

They’ve also changed the name to the Members Cup, at least on DCFC’s page.

Detroit City FC is a team that competed in the NPSL this year, and is only becoming a professional team when the next NISA season starts.

Yesterday, they beat Guadalajuaran Liga MX side Atlas 2-1! I don’t know if this says more about the quality of Liga MX or DCFC, but it’s impressive nonetheless.

Also, if anyone in NYC/Long Island wants to go to the DCFC/Cosmos game on October 12th, I’ll be there in rouge and gold.

I went to the Detroit City game against the Cosmos yesterday and had a blast. We had to be escorted into the stadium by security because apparently there were Twitter fights and threats leading up to the match. Some morons got thrown out before kickoff for throwing beer cans at us, and their supporter section was deadly silent after DCFC went up 2-0 in the first 30 minutes. The Cosmos pulled one back with about 10 minutes left, so the end was appropriately tense.

City has two games left and only needs a draw to secure the Members Cup title, for whatever that’s worth.
