Vertongen played at fullback would be a smart and strong move. It is the winning strategy at the highest levels of international football (Spain, Germany, France). Liverpool will not tire like Ajax. And their depth in midfield means they can sprint at Spurs and sub on someone of like quality who can keep sprinting at them after 65 minutes. Anyone Spurs brings on decreases the quality of the side.
