seriously? like top 5 might be a stretch for me personally, but it's a bit silly to say they didn't miss anything good. i mean it's fine if you didn't like it, but it's clear most other people did so that response seems, i dunno, disingenuous?

Pretty sure Neal was the juror who got removed via one of the dumbest twists in the history of the game (imo).

i'm not sure if aurora's bargaining was doing her many favors. it's not something i would have done in that situation though i understand where she was coming from. it's a little eye-rolling that people were coming down on her so hard for it when the challenge was not stopped. for me it was uncomfortable because i guess i'm the sort of person who wants to win on my own and not because someone else gave it to me, so it's always kind of awkward to watch people ask to be given a win.

i could not believe kelley or lauren didn't play an idol but as someone said they clearly had to know what was going to happen. still, pretty bold. if they play those idols right they could change everything since i think no one else knows they have idols.

i love rick. edge of extinction has been worth it all because it let him get back in the game.

also i know this sort of conversation topic is taboo but victoria is super attractive.

victoria really seemed to have potential but dropped off entirely when she was out of that one vote. i honestly can't even remember the last time she had a confessional. i have no clue who is actually going to win at this point because it's going to be a very hard road for devens (i'm not sure he can pull off a mike immunity run) or anyone who comes back from extinction. i have this weird sense that it's going to be julie.

i wonder how the jury is going to work. is just literally everyone going to be on it who didn't leave extinction?

i would actually consider it really funny if reem somehow won. comes back, gets into the finals, takes no poo poo from anyone, they become afraid to vote for anyone else.

they also went out of their way to show ron rubbing people the wrong way last episode. the scene seemed a little out of place at the time.

i almost forgot about lauren. i suppose i could see her winning as well. she has friends on the jury and no one really seems to dislike her.

i already said this before but it continues to be true. EoE was fully worth it for allowing Devens to come back. not sure if it's a mechanic i'd want to see more, but this season wouldn't be half as entertaining without him. i can't possibly see him winning but if he pulls out a miracle to make it to the finals i don't see him not winning.

earlier i thought julie might win, but i think victoria has overtaken her in my rankings after that. lauren too, probably. i think gavin is the only one who has zero chance to win.

my very brief take on this season is this: i like devens and want him to win. he's made things very entertaining. however, the season overall is weak. because either he gets to the end and it's a foregone conclusion, or he gets voted out again and no winner is very satisfying. even david, who is a favorite of mine. people on EoE have gotten so little air time that for them to come back and win now would just feel weird.

except reem. i would love nothing more than for reem to win.

Bi's quit wasn't really due to not being able to handle survivor, though, which seemed to be the nature of the discussion. she sustained an injury that could damage her actual career without proper care even if it didn't technically warrant her being pulled from the game. so i'm not going to really fault her.

though sometimes i have to wonder what people who rely on physical fitness and ability for a career think when they apply to go on survivor, a show where you have a great chance at messing up your body in some way.

Good lord. I really do not understand. I mean, it's fine to not like him. I can understand why people might not. But I can't believe it's that bad.

Like, my mother watches this show and she loves him.

my poison was dan (wardog) which i think still fits. my pony was david though so that didn't pan out.

i said it last week but any winner other than devens (or reem lol) was going to be underwhelming. i honestly forgot who chris even was. rip. i guess the devens antics were fun enough.

david's transformation from perhaps the most awful day 1 ever to a legitimate challenge performer and actual threat to win was pretty cool.

also adam and jay's relationship dynamic was interesting. both were basically enemies but were genuinely compassionate and understanding of their own personal stories. they were resigned to knowing they needed to get the other out but kept it more like a friendly rivalry. which in a way reflects the season as a whole. there were basically no bad attitudes or toxicity which was refreshing.

also jay's reaction to his idol being fake and getting voted out was great. it might be the most positively i've ever seen someone get voted out.

Varner was a whole different type of ugly. That wasn't good tv for anyone. I feel like even Russell wouldn't have gone there. Though I'm not sure that's what apples was referring to anyway.

Haha is the same rear end in a top hat season with each tribe voting somebody out as soon as they get off the bus, but then in a double-rear end in a top hat twist they get flown to camp while everyone else has to hike?!

no that's tocantins. always kinda hated that twist. i feel like nearly every time someone gets singled out at the beginning because they were chosen as the strongest or weakest it just arbitrarily makes things harder for them.

their hike certainly wasn't that long, though they were carrying tons of supplies.
