Now that slopes are confirmed, what's the new slopes? Maps and secret exits? Because GIVE ME MAPS AND SECRET EXITS.

Oh, cool, level sharing time!

I'm proudest of my ghost house, which I feel is the closest thing I've made to a ghost house from Super Mario World. I'd probably like to remake this in 2: https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/9161-0000-0042-39A1

This one is a gimmick stealth level where interacting with anything other than coins will make the level harder: https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/7504-0000-00DC-5D68

And here's some of the other ones I made:
https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/2B8F-0000-00D7-2BBA (fairly standard level)
https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/18D6-0000-0015-C894 (my first level)

I'm annoyed that one of my levels was deleted, I thought I had a pretty good idea that nobody else had done, and I'll be sure to remake it once 2 is out.

Another level I made was also deleted but that was because Nintendo patched out the old camouflage block glitch, which I worked really hard on making into a mischievous but fair level!

Anyway I'm super hype for this game! Looking forward to renovating some of the levels I linked above with new gimmicks.

A worlds feature of some sort would also fix one of the problems with the first game, which is that 1ups were completely meaningless.

The timer, coin counter, and points are all different, so those three were just stitched together.

Okay so what's on everyone's wishlist now that they've covered so many of the things people wanted:

- Maps and secret exits
- A website for queuing up levels like in the original
- Charging Chucks
- semi-solid slopes
- tilted pipes
- Mario 2

I prepurchased it and Mario Maker 2 is occupying 2.8 GB on my Switch right now. So uh, has anybody in the past tried spoofing whatever servers it's checking (for other preloaded games), and did they get in some kind of Nintendo-trouble for it?

*extremely Gamexplain voice* There seem to be two biomes seen but not pointed out in the trailer. The one with the big blue tank at around 0:47 appears to be its own biome; it doesn't look like the default Mario 3 grass biome and doesn't seem to fit desert or forest. Then there's several Super Mario 3D World clips that appear to take place in some kind of toybox-like biome.

I'm gonna remake all my old levels because much like Nintendo I'm out of ideas and not enough people appreciated my Wii U output :smug:

Yeah, the brief glimpse of the online course selection screen only displays hearts and number of plays. Hopefully that'll make it so that Super Expert has actually challenging levels and not bullshit kaizo block/thwomp over the starting position/door into pit levels, or even stages like the ones Panga makes, which are cool but have no place in a mode where your lives can run out.

They already delete levels that don’t get stars in a particular timeframe and lock you out of reuploading them which in some cases is a good thing but in others it’s just going to be a case of lack of discovery options which from what we’ve seen they’ve done nothing to address.

One of mine was removed in this way and I thought it was a perfectly fine level with a gimmick I haven't seen anyone else do

Hm, I notice that 3D World labels Magikoopas as "Kamek", so now I'm wondering if it's a boss type enemy in 3D World.

edit: oh, the synthesized voice still says "Magikoopa" though

They're all called Kamek in Japan

Yes but one of the videos I watched (this one, at 19:14) specifically called it Kamek (while other videos say "Magikoopa"), and I know that the Japanese version doesn't use romaji for the enemy names.

edit: Oh... they're also called Kameks in PAL regions.

It looks like you'll have the ability to have items simply respawn without needing a pipe, too.

What's that now?

Yeah that's what they're doing, it's hard to watch. But why didn't Nintendo just make it so that you die if you land? In the case of a floor-is-lava challenge, If you violated the condition, there's nothing you can do but start over.

Also, I hope there's a "collect no more than x coins" clear condition.

Hey I have a new request; can someone tell Reggie to go back to Nintendo and make them add moving walls; the kind that move up/down/left/right/diagonally and will crush you if you gently caress up? Also Charging Chucks. Thanks in advance.

Most of the GameXplain complaints I saw were nitpicking but I did see that pipe stacking was removed, which I don't like :( It helped add interesting maze mechanics to levels that used it properly.

On the annoying, but not a deal breaker side of things, 3D World has only one type of semisolid platform across all the themes.

Argue

That only solves when you want to prevent someone from re-entering a pipe, but stacking pipes also let you make it so that multiple entrance pipes lead to a single exit pipe.

Has there been any evidence that we can make tracks invisible this time around? It was always jarring to see things like enemies and objects travel back and fourth on them while the tracks are right there in white against the background.

It would make for cleaner level design if we had the option to hide them.

People speculated as much because there was a brief clip of Mario being chased by a ring of ghosts without a track, but I suspect that was a nighttime effect, not an invisible track.

Story mode has Toad escort mission levels and at least one special carriable block type ("stone") but you can't make them in Course Maker.

My dream extra style is a full 3d roaming one, but not one with level themes like Hat Kingdom or whatever; instead just give us the Super Mario Sunshine a capella secret level theme and a whole bunch of moving geometric primitives that we can string together!
