https://www.cacti.net is extremely underrated for generic snmp poo poo the server i set up 10 years ago at work still works pretty much maintenance free

influx is easy until you start trying to customize it with rollup policies, multiple retention schedules and other things that aren't part of the default settings out of the box it just keeps everything forever with full detail instead of doing coarse averaging for historic data, which works pretty well for home setups with a couple hundred metrics on a minute interval but not so great with thousands of servers sending tens of thousands of metrics every few seconds.

the reason nagios runs for years without anyone touching it is that nobody wants to actively maintain it even with a gun to their head it can sort of work if you write your own custom scripts that autogenerate all the config files for it,good luck maintaining that poo poo by hand though
