I'm psyched for this. Shadow Hearts is a very charming game, but this one is amazing.

Repeating anything you see in this game in a history class will cause you to fail badly.

One thing you can say about the sidequests in SH:C is that they're not boring or particularly forgettable.

Shadow Hearts didn't even have anything particularly weird beyond Alice hitting things with books. Everything else was a pretty standard weapon type that you'd find in other games.

Arcade Rabbit posted:This might be treading close to spoiler territory, but about how quickly do we get our whole party in this game? Because Keith, and Haley especially, came in really late last game, and then kinda didn't do much of anything after a certain point. The next two characters show up pretty quickly, one takes a little longer, and the last is pretty late-game with not much to do.

There are parts of the story in SH:C that work very well, but yeah, it's not gothic horror, and it's not either of its predecessors. On the other hand, the gameplay is just so much better that I can forgive it.

There have been gay people for as long as there have been people, but the degree to which it was socially acceptable has varied a lot over time. I don't know specifics about WWI-era France, but in other times and places there has definitely been underground erotica of some sort. Bodybuilding magazines got their start as hidden softcore porn, for instance.

It's just not that hard of a game. Playing with your favorite characters, or rotate them around, or pretty much anything else you want to do will work.

I had three separate parties that I rotated through on a regular basis. Yuri and Karin were in each of them, and each of the other characters showed up in one. I don't remember exactly how I split it.

One of the things I really remember fondly about this game is how well they used character's facial expressions and body language to convey what's going in a scene without needing to spell it out. Veronica's looks as Joachim gets his mask and becomes the Grand Papillon really work to sell how confused she is, and that's something that wasn't really possible with the earlier consoles. I don't know if any other game did it first, but this one did it really well. It leads to one of the best and most memorable moments in the game a bit later on, and I'm really looking forward to seeing that part.
