Newcomer: Gil, Heber, Pozuelo (Heber, NYCFC have some rather stark splits with him in/out of the lineup)
Rookie: Aaronson, Dotson, Shinyashiki (dunno)
Coach: Bradley, Curtin, Torrent (Bob has to be a lock)
Comeback: Kaye, Morris, Przybylko (Homer pick: Morris)

a) that's when their broadcasters had spots available
b) Atlanta's, Seattle's, and Minnesota's stadiums also host gridiron football games this weekend and the soccer games had to be scheduled accordingly

MLS has 14 months to reach its goal of being a top ten league in the world, so it only makes sense for them to continue diluting the talent pool, keeping the salary cap low and confusing, and expanding the playoffs so that bad teams are never punished
