Really the most frustrating thing of all is the Dem's inability to properly diagnose what happened. Clinton sucked and promised more status quo bs that everyone hated, get over it. She fumbled what should have been an easy jog to the endzone and that's not Putin's fault or Manning's fault or any other scapegoat. 2008 was the first election I could vote in and I was happy to go for 'hope and change' after being disgusted with 8 years of Bush and instead I watched more of the same but also the economy got worse and worse and worse. That's what hosed up 2016 for the Democrats - the sound education they gave everyone in just what hope and change entails. Now I get well off libs baffled at me like 'but the economy is so great!' whatever stick your heads in the sand some more this will all collapse hard again sooner or later if the climate doesn't gently caress us first. Of course the Dems can't admit that because it would mean maybe their entire donor base and ideological stance is wrong and can't have that as 80 year olds who clutch to power. I can get questioning Assange but regarding the dnc leak, should that have never gotten out then? Can a thing like Wikileaks ever be trusted? Or even needed? Snowden and the panama papers don't seem to have changed poo poo, just business as usual here as far as I'm concerned.

The reason Manning's decided to die on this hill doesn't really have anything to do with Wikileaks, if we trust her statement, which we really have no reason not to. She's willing to testify in an open hearing but not a secret one. That's it. I guess I support this principle in, uh, principle, so good luck to her with all that and I hope her legal counsel are in fact not stupid.
