You can have them valved however you'd like, but they are definitely not unreasonably harsh normally. In fact, you can run higher spring rates with better ride quality than a lot of off the shelf garbage. Least that is how mine are.

I'm local to you and have been casually shopping for an Elise/Exige to K swap as a second track car to my BRZ, but it seems like this is way too clean and low mileage for me.  I'm sure someone is going to scoop it up quick, it is beautiful. Market is loving nuts so you'll probably print too.
