The Katering Show
IMHO the funniest show on youtube, surpassing even Sex House. Two aussie comedians named Kate who really deserved more recognition. They just made a TV show called Deadloch which I also recommend, a murder mystery set in a rural Tasmanian mostly-lesbian village.

It kills me how their spiritual successor to The Katering Show, Get Krack!n is still not really available to stream in the states. It's basically the humor and principles of The Katering Show applied to a morning TV show and it's magnificent. I'd make a pretty strong argument for it being even better than The Katering Show.

I've only ever seen clips of it and yeah I wish I could get my hands on it somehow.

Funny story, I was playing Apex Legends online with a random goon from the game's thread and we got talking. He said he's a TV comedy producer down unda, so I asked him if he's familiar with the Kates. He says "Yes, and you're gonna hate this, we turned down their pitch for the Katering Show." :negative:

I ended up buying both seasons from Apple tv (Apple+ whatever the gently caress it’s called) to support them in some way. They also did a pretty good radio drama for audible. After nothing but podcasts for so long it was nice to listen to a professionally produced old timey radio thing

To add to the thread: baumgauter restorations is really good. Art restoration business out of Chicago with good narration about the techniques and decision-making process

So I haven't seen this posted yet and maybe you guys will hate it but I'm kind of obsessed.

I found a YouTube channel I've been binging...

I thought I should share it. It's a guy that started his own animal sanctuary from scratch and next to nothing and it's amazing what he's accomplished in 3 years.

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6AKPwFYIM7zqqU8P0iDkJO1FqgsR8izq&si=TheGQ0hSLzoyigoJ

There's a playlist but honestly just go to the channel and kinda see the old videos and then watch a new one and see what he's accomplished and how many animals he's rescued. Seems like a really good guy. The language is kinda memey because I think he makes more money off his tiktoks for children and these are the long forms but it's still fascinating. Watch the creature feature videos for info on how he takes care of the animals.

Here's a good example of what hes up to recently..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRfzVElv8RA

He's thinking of moving to SE Asia to set up an animal sanctuary there because his money will go further and he'll be able to rescue higher intelligence animals like monkeys and parrots and such.

It seems to be super popular but never showed up on my algorithm before.

I found a scan of the booklet with all 120 creatures and they arranged nicely into a grid. The fish guy is at (3,2) going from bottom left.
It's kind of like a Meyers-Briggs Rorscach test, everyone who sees it identifies with one of the creatures.

I've just recently started watching Sean Munger who does a lot of deep-dive videos covering various historical events. His most recent is a three-hour-long look at the monarchies that collapsed in the early 20th century. But he also has really good ones on the Iran-Contra Scandal, the Gulf War, and the Kennedy Assassination. They're all as long as hell, but he uses chapters really effectively so you can watch it in bits and pieces really easily.

They used to be available free on Australian ABC's VOD service iView (which you could probably access with a VPN) but they're not up there any more. You can buy them to view on Youtube but they're not cheap. This is bullshit.

Here's a trailer:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8ERvX8dtUY

Edit: there's a bunch of uploads on Dailymotion of varying quality. A lot of them are slightly sped up and were filmed off the TV on a weird angle to get around the anti-piracy algorithms and are pretty unwatchable but if you keep searching you can usually find a better version which is mostly watchable

The very final episode should have won some loving awards, loving hell they go hard

I have a few but the first I'm going to mention is Blue Bidya Game.

I do sentimental videos on every game in the PS1 library alphanumerically and region-free until I die. Let's get weird and look through low graphical detail windows together. What do you think is out there? What could be just past those blocky hills?

It's good. The videos are self-researched and surprisingly in-depth. The attempts at humor mostly hit. He's just now getting out of the numbers so there's a lot of content to go.

Most of these games I've not heard of but find interesting. Here's a couple examples:

Gametal, my favorite youtube musician I posted upthread, recently did a collab with a very small youtube channel by the name of Yell0. I was intrigued by their synthwork on the collab for Cave Story:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OebzswLV2-c

so I checked out their channel, and they're a promising upstart and a lot of the stuff I've checked out so far has been really solid. the very first one I clicked on their channel was a remix of A CYBER'S WORLD? from Deltarune which I really like.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoDR5Y5k_vQ

and then I clicked this remix of Sonic the Hedgehog 2's Chemical Plant Zone theme, my favorite classic sonic theme, and I was sold, he's absolutely earned my eye for anything he puts out for the foreseeable future because I love this.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cFgcT7FCI8

anyways he's a very small channel so give him a look-see if you're curious.

Rob Ager does film reviews, but with a hyperfocus on psychology and symbolism. His discussions on The Shining, Alien, The Thing and Hereditary are all pretty jaw-dropping. Some of it goes deeper than it probably should, but if you don't mind a flat voiceover, his content is pretty dense and I find it satisfying.
