I finally finished S2! God this show’s great. It basically had me sold from Laszlo’s ‘it’s loving massive’ where I had to pause and cry-laugh for a good 2-3 minutes. I love all the cast equally, with special mention to Nadja’s off to the side reaction faces. When the stupid baby vampire Jenna asks where their clothes go when they transform into bats and Nadja is just hit by the fact she’s absolutely never thought about it. “...Huh.” Matt Berry’s schtick can wear thin as someone else said, being in the UK, you hear his voice a lot. Guillermo doing 😬 in reaction shots never gets old.

Also, I’ve just watched the first season of Year of the Rabbit which also stars Matt Berry, and it’s fantastic. Big recommendations. Also it’s set in 1887, which is the year before Jack the Ripper did his thing, and now I want Rabbit to find Laszlo. The_Doctor fucked around with this message at 14:03 on Oct 29, 2020 |

At least it’s coming back. Year of the Rabbit’s future is very uncertain at this point.

That might have been the best episode of the series so far. Vampires in casinos make so much sense, and then putting them on a Fear and Loathing style bender was so much fun too. It somehow felt much longer than a regular episode too, like it was seriously dense with story. Alhazred posted:Ring a ding-ding! I stand corrected.

I’m wondering how the vampire/real life actor thing works now. When the Vampiric Council met for the first time, they were first name only: Tilda, Evan, Danny, etc. you had plausible deniability that they weren’t meant to be the actors. Then this season, Nandor explicitly says it was Wesley Snipes Skyping in on a laptop. And they called him a Daywalker in the earlier ep. So the actor Wesley Snipes played the Daywalker Blade and is a Daywalker in real life? How does it all intersect?!

The scene in the car between Nandor and Guillermo was incredibly well acted. Also, where is Guillermo getting money for that kind of car? Is he siphoning Vampiric Council funds? Money feels like something they don’t pay attention to, once they’ve got the fees.

Oh my god, I’ve definitely had energy vampires as Uber drivers. One in Berlin who took me to the airport talked the entire time in (I think) Turkish, and had a whole conversation with me even though I clearly said I was English. What he talked about, I have no clue, but it was draining because it was 5am and I just wanted to ride in peace.
