The difference is a tenth of 1%. In one mile your tires will now rotate 705 times instead of 704. You'll be fine.

They just add a lot of grippy chunky textures to your smooth slippery tire so that you can get out of low traction situations. Its a literal chain wrapped around the wheel physically.
