The only complaint I have with English handling of Latin names is their fascination with dropping us/ius whenever possible.

Marcus Antonius sounds like an accomplished general. Mark Anthony sounds like a late '90s porn star.

The History Of Rome is one of the foundational works of the history podcasting genre. It's definitely worth a listen.

To me the only two historical podcasts that surpass it are History of Byzantium (though it took a while to get there) and Revolutions which is by the History of Rome guy.

What do you guys reckon will the Byzantium of I:R? Both in difficulty and popularity. One of Athens or Sparta maybe?

There's supposed to be a playable Achaemid out there somewhere. Also a remnant of the Minoan civilization on Crete.

Do regnal numbers still disappear when a character dies? It annoys the hell out of me.

I'd definitely say the map has been great since day 1, the non-passable mountains really make the game feel much more tactical.

It's funny that Johan saw them doing it for CK2 and took it to make Imperator with, because the CK2 map looks to make way less use of that.

Really makes you understand why a lot of empires had problems penetrating past the coastline.
