I was looking for a thread for Chivalry 2 and couldn't find one until I stumbled into this thread, I guess I should have known :P Chiv 2 is loving bananas. I had so much fun this weekend spamming the battle cry button every time I spawned, trying out the different classes and generally having a blast. Footman is my poo poo so far, lots of people don't know how to handle the stabs just yet so it's pretty easy to get kills. Really excited for the full release, I'm gonna play the poo poo out of this game man.

Please tell me they kept the same VA for all of the returning classes. Especially the Mason Man-at-Arms. Dodging around like a lunatic while spamming the Help! callout was the best way to be an annoying little poo poo in Chiv1

Had a blast with what I've played so far, absolutely loving playing Footman with a spear. Dashing back out of someone's swing range and then poking them in the face is intensely satisfying.

Glad I'm not alone in loving Chiv 2. Fell off of Mordhau hard with how finicky it felt. Played the Chiv beta and I feel that warm feeling again. Being able to chamber in a more intuitive and fun way makes the battles feel like a Jedi duel.

Put in 22 hours this weekend, thought that would be it but now I am really tempted to pick chivalry up. Didn't play mordhau or the first chivalry so this is really scratching my M&B warband multiplayer itch. Game feels really good overall, although certain maps seemed pretty stacked one way or the other in my experience, raid on the village in particular seemed heavily stacked in favor of the attacking Mason's, I think in around 10 to 12 times playing that the defender's only one once.

Both gold capture objectives can be hard to break a defense in, in my experience, but you really need people aware of the objectives and most of the time they're just rushing somewhere random to either try and kill 6 people themselves or join 5 other teammates attacking a single enemy. The Roadmap they made public today talks about new modes coming later with a smaller playercount and I'm excited for those! A 10v10or such would be pretty cool, or even a 5v5 arena. The war simulation is great and full of funny moments, but sometimes you can spend a full match without getting a good fight in between throwing rocks at people and getting your head chopped by a Messer that started swinging ten meters to your right.

Next week though one-handed spear with the knight subclass was great fun, found it to be an excellent duel and disruption weapon. Might just be that most people hadn't seen it much and it had very wide swings, making hitting around blocks pretty easy. Messer was excellent, greatsword even better. Gotta love overhand special attacking lopping off archer heads in one blow

It's still an archer subclass and people will still cry when you kill them, but you also get an ability to just instantly replenish your javelins on the move. To throw mote javelins and make them cry more.

I really love that Chiv 2 still has an "attack archers" voice command, standing behind a group of friendly archers and raving about strangling them with their own bowstrings never gets old. With that said, archers are cool and good and I enjoyed playing them from time to time in both Chiv and Mordhau.
