it's actually incredibly good. proportional fonts are much easier to read than monospaced ones in general, and that applies to things in code too.

the only potential downside is if your coding style uses some godawful tabular layout. which it shouldn't, because they suck. but even in the sad case that you are stuck with one of those, you just have to run the autoformatter on every commit to fix it up for your backwards colleagues.
