Funnily enough that's not quite right, a fraudulent mystic CAN still get you immortality. It's just almost impossible as with each step of the chain with a fraudulent mystic the success rate drastically decreases; apparently the final event has something like 1000:1 odds of failure if you've encountered a fraud. But you could still theoretically make it. Also it's not strictly 9 out of 10 times that the mystic is a fraud - the higher your character's stats in the immortality path you chose, the more likely it is the mystic is legit (per the wiki "The chance that the mystic is fraudulent is reduced if the chosen attribute is high (the thresholds are 10, 13, 16, 19 and 22). "). And yeah the most reliable way to see if the mystic is a fraud is if the dynasty member who confronts you about her is ambitious, envious or deceitful as then they'll always lie to you and you can know that the mystic is the opposite of whatever they tell you. Going to be contrarian and Vote No *for the moment* for a couple of reasons: we only just conquered Arabia, it’ll be a decade before we benefit from those levies. Most importantly, China’s in a Golden Age currently. That means Tibet would be facing down up to 175,000 attritionless, high quality event troops led by the most brilliant strategists China has to offer. Fighting them while they’re merely stable would maybe be a more even and interesting fight (especially once we’ve digested Arabia/possibly re-integrated the Deccan Empire.) As is, I’m fairly sure voting yes here is voting for the total dissolution of the Tibetan Empire. While you don’t lose your levies, I’m fairly sure that you do get an extreme realm-wide penalty to levy reinforcement (to simulate your sending a massive army into China, I guess). So there is a pretty big penalty we can ill afford so soon after spending blood in Arabia. E: Bonus reminder that we actually lost to the original Mongol invasion, and were only spared the Mongol yoke bc they then decided they liked us and never invaded with a CB for Tibet proper. This war would have no such get-out-of-jail-free clause.
