This meant that in order for The Donald to finally pitch in, he would need permission from both the FAA and the department.

Even if Trump does win Iowa, he will have only about three days before the end of the nominating campaign in the New Hampshire primary. He doesn't have time in which to campaign hard on immigration, trade or education, so his only option now is to try to avoid any controversies and appeal to the American left.
