I have to say I find Alex hilarious on Chapo. He's definitely more engaged and has a sharper wit than Felix has been lately. The biggest problem with him is that funny isn't what the show needs to replace Matt.

"If Books Could Kill" is fun, and "Maintenance Phase" is alright even though his co-host really edges up to the "Healthy at Any Size, also it's violence to tell me my cholesterol levels" line. "You're Wrong About" fell off a bit when he left, but it's still decent.

doughboys did have a gusano guest on though that talked about how cuba was bad and tyhat if you go there you should rent an airbnb instead of giving hte evil government money

The one other kinda nice "side effect" to Matt being off the show is that it seems to have brought Amber back pretty often. Even though I don't like Amber as much as a lot of other people in this thread, she's still really good on the show and brings something different to it (if anything, it seems like her long absence from the show made things a bit more interesting, because there were times when she seemed to have opinions that were unexpected or surprising to Will/Felix). I think the main niche Chapo fills for me (that it definitely did much better with Matt but is still pretty decent about) is just being the "commenting on recent events + humor" podcast that is the most relaxing to listen to. When I want to lay down and relax in the evening, I'll be happiest if there's some new Chapo episode where they're just commenting on poo poo and doing reading series/movie reviews. Most other podcasts I've listened to are either much more substantive (like TrueAnon, which usually contains a lot of actual information/research) and the sort of thing I need to be in the right mindset to want to listen to, or they do something similar to Chapo but worse.

I'm listening to NoClip which seems like the spiritual successor to Waypoint. This episode is on Fallout 76, which is good. They are saying it is good, which is good. But they say it is good for the wrong reasons and now I'm mad.
