Are the diamond upgrades offered when you die permanent upgrades, or just for the next run? I suck so far and don't want to waste my diamonds. :ohdear:

Is there a way to just find out where an item would be? I'm at the end of the game and the only item I'm missing is the Roc's Feather, but as near as I can tell I found all the blue and purple chests on the map.
