I ran the 3rd attempt of that thread, and couldn't keep up because it was mostly just me posting over and over, I hope this year's Summer Fun & Games gets more people interested, especially with Elizabeth Banks on Press Your Luck and Joel McHale on Card Sharks.

Here's a re-print of the schedule!

One of my favorite pieces of news is that NICKELODEON is bringing the UK cult show "The Crystal Maze" to the United States, but instead of celebrities (because modern format) they are doing FAMILIES, so that is making me very intrigued.

Also, 25 Words or Less is premiering in Syndication in the Fall, so it's very interesting.

Just a few updates from the last month or so

The Misery Index with the Impractical Jokers debuted - the third round is a golden snitch and promotes their trutv show

Supermarket Sweep came and went on ITV - I enjoyed it.

The Tournament of Champions on Jeopardy is coming up.

HQ might be reaching it's final moments.

Craig Ferguson has a game show coming soon called "The Hustler" on ABC

Fox might cancel all their game shows (except masked singer) due to budget concerns.

The Price is Right and Let's Make a Deal debuted, CBS ALL ACCESS account holders can watch these shows wherever they want. You don't have to pretend to be sick to watch anymore!

Wheel of Fortune is still boring.

You're telling me a big rear end wheel is too expensive, but Holey Moley can get renewed with it's giant rear end mini golf course. That or Rob Riggle will work for pennies on the dollar compared to Jamie Fox and Dax Shepherd.

ABC is going all-in with reality-formats (my guess is the WGA Strike is scaring them, so they are trying to get as many game shows and reality-comps as possible as a "in case of emergency")

FOX is losing their rear end on WWE, and considering the network's track record is 50/50, for every "Hell's Kitchen" or "MasterChef" there is a "Utopia" or "Boom!" - it's not looking good. They do have new formats most likely already completed such as "Flirty Dancing" and "Lego Builders", but am unsure when they'll air, or if it'll be season 2 winners.

CBS is reducing Amazing Race, in favor of Survivor twice a year, and Big Brother having the mini-Celebrity season and the summer series (to also try and push CBS All Access) but it's really just Price and Deal as far as game shows are concerned. They have the worst track record so far in recent history - Million Dollar Mile, TKO and Candy Crush (Love Island wasn't even as trashy as the UK counterpart)

NBC is not really taking risks, The Wall Season 3 is collecting dust, Hollywood Game Night & Ellen's "Game of Games" are picking up the "in-studio" formats, while they continue having the same transition from The Voice to America's Got Talent with a dash of "American Ninja Warrior" thrown in.

That all that's left is Syndication - and GSN's strategy is creating original content for the purposes of not paying Fremantle (who now has "Buzzr") any extra money. So with original content they can rerun on the network, they can also make extra revenue through syndication, which is what they are doing with America Says (I'm assuming, they are going to try that out with Common Knowledge, Catch 21, and any other new format they try and develop)

There is also all the Quibi shows in development (which I see as disposable) and a series of "The Circle" coming soon to Netflix.

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/banijay-endemol-deal-franchises-big-brother-survivor-black-mirror-1249497

Also Banijay and Endemol just did a merger, which means layoffs and MAYBE THAT MEANS WOLVERINE CAN PLAY DEAL OR NO DEAL :cheeky:

(most of this stuff, i talk about on the podcast, but if you read some of these press releases)

Putting Spicer on was a bad call by casting, and they should really avoid the Trump Bump - celebrity big brother did that twice, and it didn't help. Just wait for the administration to end, and then maybe, if humanity isn't dead, you might see spicey on HGTV's "Celebrity Design Challenge" or something.

I've been catching up on podcasts, and "Televised insanity catharts over lovely press releases" is definitely a high point.

I've seen and heard so many formats, many innovative formats, some are reboots of classic game shows, others are things like "The Genius Game".

So whenever I see deadline posting a press release for "America's Next Ice Cream Flavor" or "Let's Do a Quiz About Social Media"

I immediately think "they passed on The Genius for this" or "we could have GamecenterCX, but instead this" or "Oh boy, another Arts & Crafts comp show on a shoe string budget with twelve executive producers that will see most of the budget as the set and prize will be cheap"

It's the most frustrating thing in the world, and sometimes there is a format I read and go "oh that's interesting" but ultimately it just rings to me "ah gently caress, I'm listing game shows to cover in future episodes, this sucks"

And considering the only new shows right now airing is "Misery Index" (with a Round 3 Golden Snitch) and "Nashville Squares : Hope These Bits Go Viral" - there really is not a lot going until Christmas

When you'll see Light Fight, American Baking Show Holiday (even though they haven't done a normal season for a few years), and a special episode of game of games on November 27, and a season of "Making It" to air every day for a week.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVrr5H6BgPA

just watched this show, and it's the show that just screams "NBC on Wednesday Nights for One Season Then Cancelled" (with a $50,000 Top Prize)

The show is simple - just not come in first or last in any challenge, sometimes it's based on scoring (speed) sometimes it's based on most/least (such as "write down ANY hashtag, how many times it's used on Instagram") or just picking somebody from the audience.

The final round, when it goes to three is a "How Much Is Enough" style game, where all three players write down secretly how much they want to take home. Too Greedy, and they lose, Least Amount also loses.

I've also been watching "The Circle" on Netflix and loving it, I was *this* close to writing the TVIV thread for it, because I loved the show in the UK, and was glad it came to the states, and things like Survivor/BigBrother/AmazingRace/Bachelor does so well.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJqBNYvqF7I

I am glad people are getting into this show, I felt like such a champion of this format when it debuted a while back, and just now people seeing it and loving it and having that same reaction as I do (including the ULTRA RARE Genius Ah-Ha Moment) makes me love it so so much.

https://variety.com/2020/tv/news/jeopardy-the-greatest-of-all-time-part-2-tv-ratings-1203461795/

also, can't believe jeopardy won the night, it truly is "The Ambassador of Game Shows" and glad people are catching wind, and I don't feel like such a weirdo in public when people say "did you see Jeopardy GOAT" and them telling me who they want (Typically it's James, because ESPN/Sports Backgrounds or Ken Jennings because of his broad, mainstream success)

Nickelodeon's Crystal Maze is up on the 24th (that's today) and it looks like a fun show, 8 games are played per show (boo) but Adam as Maze Master is fun (yay) and the $25,000 in the Crystal Dome is very old school game show (yay) and the games are still fun!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyyGvGlO5mI

Bravo put up an episode of Spy Games, it's a game show where 10 contestants are trained like Spies, while there is a game within the game - aquire the "secrets" of all of your opponents while preserving your own (somewhat like Identity, but with everybody trying to figure it out, with a The Mole style quiz at the end)

I finally finished the last season of The Challenge on the bad MTV app and started on this one. Something had to give when Wednesday became a wrestling war again and it ended up being the Challenge. It ended up being a decent season even if the gameplay was beyond dumb for most of the game although it was interesting how much team USA ended up paying for that in the end.

You can tell this season's "you must compete in an elimination to make the finals" rule is a response to that, and probably a necessary one since the social game in the current format had been pretty much a solved equation with the core group of players, although I do wonder if it's a problem that would've taken care of itself over time and attrition of the alliance. I have a feeling, especially given the spoilery episode titles that Jay from Survivor isn't long for the game but he's been a nice fit and his willingness to just dive into the politics is something you don't see from new players to that show very often.

The game show community really falls asleep on The Challenge, and I still have no idea why (shameless plug for the most recent episode) - because they've somehow figured out the format that can PLEASE every fan of these reality-comps by bringing them back year-after-year and always bringing in new people from other reality-comp shows and have that versatile format where something like needing a skull to get into the final challenge makes for real strategy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5Z07-kKk2U

They are starting to put up full episodes of "Schlag Den Raab" to YouTube, and I have been enjoying this strange sports-quiz-skill-variety game show package that can really come down to "MILLION DOLLAR 8-BALL"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCLscnIzLGA

Also, I enjoy the idea of Celebrity Escape Room for NBC's Red Nose Day, but I gotta be honest, it feels like a pilot for a game show they'll take later on than a simple "one and done"

Also, Millionaire is still terrible, and I think Celebrities with Jeopardy-Champion Plants wasn't a good look for the show amid COVID-19, and Jimmy sounds/looks bored, because there isn't really much of an audience to play with, and no civilians to really root-for, making for a boring version on a really cool set. Kimmel was a good choice, considering Clarkson over in the UK, and making the show different than Regis/Tarrant, but they couldn't figure that out, so it hiccups

Oh yeah, and wipeout is coming back, with the big balls.

I decided to watch the premiere of "Game On!" since it has Keegan-Michael Key and Ian Karmel as hosts and I really like them both.

Key's the main host and didn't get to do much as a result, but Karmel was funny. I don't think this kind of show is my thing, but it had that going for it at least.

Also, I didn't realize that Vanessa Williams was like a charisma black hole, yikes.

James Corden hosted the UK version, and much like most Late Late Show - it felt segmented for the purposes of cutting up and putting up on YouTube later for those VIRAL LAUGH OUT LOUD moments "OMG guess who can't kick a field goal!" "Bobby Lee attempts to block soccer shots by COOLIO, MARK MCGRATH and MACY GRAY!"

Also, Summer Fun & Games returned (most ABC affiliates didn't air it because protests are more important, so it's on Hulu and ABC.com)

Celebrity Family Feud is still hilarious, I still can't get into Match Game ("Make the obvious joke" and watch Baldwin try and act excited to be there)

But Press Your Luck was really good - they brought back some silly prizes (Flokatti Rug) and other game show classics (Trip to Space Camp!) but this episode had a very emotional final round - and Won $450,000+ - the most money ever on Press Your Luck but still felt very sad seeing An Accessibility Van as a "Dream Prize" won, and the importance, and then see it get whammied away, and the look of devistation on not just the contestant, but Elizabeth and the audience when that happened.

HBO Max is now out which means "Legendary" is released (an actually pretty good dance competition series, even though i don't know a lick about vogue houses) and "Craftopia", the best craft-making competition show I have ever seen.

And today - STAR WARS - JEDI TEMPLE CHALLENGE

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynDMTiamRRY

Thursday, we get some more "Holey Moley" - the format is basically a "winner take all" format, where only one of the golfers gets $250,000 (the rest get just the putter and jacket) and it's still very weird.... starting to think it should've just been a $25,000 with a $100,000 final, but the holes are very clever (and Riggle poking fun at how cheap some of them are is hilarious)

This Sunday - Hollywood Game Night returns, no "stay at home special", just some celebrities from NBC-Universal Adjacent Properties plugging their shows to help a contestant win $25,000 (or most likely $8,000) by playing some very clever pop-culture games!

The problem is inconsistent, I still enjoyed Hyperdrive more than Floor is Lava, but it's LEAGUES better than Flinch and equal to Awake.

Also for those that have seen "DOCUMENTAL" on Amazon, Australia's Version "LOL : Last One Laughing" hosted by Rebel Wilson Debuted Last Week featuring Australian Comedians trying to make each other laugh for $100,000. (Without the Buy-In)

I've also been watching "Alan Carr's Epic Game Show" and it's just boring or bland or adding stuff for the sake of stretching out for time.

Every "Game" had some crap pyramid added to it.

Play Your Cards Right/Card Sharks - Pyramid of Cards with Prize Tree
The Price is Right - The "Price Range" is predetermined and there is a "Prize Pyramid" next to the grid.
Take Your Pick - The End Game is also a Pyramid to "Climb" but the "Top" is a 50/50 all or nothing gamble.
Strike It Lucky - Now with more Screens on the top to make a pyramid a Prize-Tree to win a luxury trip, that would most likely have been the "final screen" when the show originally aired 30 years ago.

I await to see "Bully's Prize Pyramid" or whatever annoying "Throw the Dart into the smaller and smaller triangle" they are gonna come up with.

If these were pilots for pick-ups, I would scrap each and every one of them, even The Price is Right.

Each player is captain for one question but may confer with the team for the answer. After everybody is captain, they vote for a player to be removed from the game.

Repeat with the 4 players, then again with the third round and 3 players.

If the final two are non hustlers they split the pot, if the Hustler is one of the final two, they get the full amount.

Should be fun.

I have returned friends, I know some of you have missed me. Let's just say, I've been a bit busy with a few things. (Moderating a Discord, Taking Care of Personal Things, Etc.)

SO ANYWAY, HERES SOME STUFF FOR YOU

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wucNHDExBGI

Aging Millennials Are Contestants on the reboot of LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE and there's a trailer of the new olmec.

https://twitter.com/SuperSweepABC/status/1440723283138146312

Season 2 of Supermarket Sweep with Leslie Jones is coming up THIS SUNDAY

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vBc4CNC4Rw

The Hustler is still a very dramatic game show, but mostly for those closing minutes with Craig Ferguson unsure about what to do.

OBVIOUSLY THE JEOPARDY THING, but there's the Jeopardy thread and I am sure everybody just has takes about Mayim and the streak of Matt Amodio and more...

WHEEL OF FORTUNE changed it's theme, people are weirded out by it, I think the getting rid of Free Play would've been a major deal.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YUkBZK9ThM

The Price is Right has a new pricing game that's Cliff Hangers but with 1972 items

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQVBOTlxc3o

The Price is Right also has a new game that's Penny Ante but with a weird prize ladder called TO THE PENNY

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7CNldc_Utc

Frogger is now a game show on Peacock, It's actually not that bad for a show that knows it's a "people fall in the water" show, by putting it in a really cool high tech set with water and light screens and cool arcade grids and 16 bit graphics packages (I like it exactly the same as Holey Moley)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLjve0hNwac

And JAY LENO is back with the reboot of YOU BET YOUR LIFE, and they are putting those episodes out online, and even on YouTube, it seems nobody is watching them?

Don't people know what an "iconic" game show looks like?!?!

And finally two pieces of news The former showrunner for Wheel and Jeopardy is teaming with the team behind "College Bowl" to make a reboot pilot of "Tic Tac Dough" with Tom Bergeron

and The composer behind the iconic "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" soundtrack passed away this week at the age of 50

That's all the news I got, hope everybody is enjoying the WHEW!

EDIT:

really wanted to chime in on this post

hexwren posted:

speaking of buzzr, they just started showing million dollar password, and it's one of the most uninteresting shows I've seen in a dog's age

it's not even really password, it's pyramid with who wants to be a millionaire on the back half

The 2000s was not really the best year for game shows, because it either had to be a reality show, or it had to be million dollar rock paper scissors, and password was one of those shows, I found it completely boring and thought nobody would ever win the million or come close, which ruins any interest of throwing a big money amount on there.

I think these days, they would probably go for a more "pyramid" style approach, and just have it be the original version of the game show from the Ludden era (10 points to 9 to 8...) and have it be "The first to 25 plays for $25,000" with that speed round at $1,000 each and then to make it somewhat of a bonus round a "Cash Word" final with a challenging word at 3 clues for 5 times the amount., and then just ping-pong back and forth with the contestant rotation until time runs out.

Because a somewhat dramatic final round where a guy has to figure out how to get "Telepathy" in 3 clues with the dramatic light, instead of just a weird speed round where that's only going to be used in the $250,000 round and then once they screw up, the round is over, would make the game play go WAY FASTER

Plus, modern day words could work - i think that's what Fallon does when they try and do the bit.

looks like they added a few new things on supermarket sweep, from the coffee returning for $300
to a "look in the barrel for a token" for $300
to a "put the apples to total this much" for $300
and now things like the teddy bears and grill are considered a bonus of $250 (even though i thought those were merch for the cart and was "limit 1" like the wheel of cheese)

also, you bet your life is probably the most life sucking game show i have seen in quite a while, everything about it, just feels hollow, like nobody wants to be there, and the grand prize of $5,000 (split 2 ways) is laughably terrible

first question worth $250 then $500 then $750 then $1000 and the fifth question is double or nothing.

at least with cash cab, theres soundtrack, theres sights of new york, the questions feel like you could play-along with, i have no idea what to feel watching this show other than DOOT-DOOT-DOO, DOOT-DOOT-DOO

but on the positive side, jeopardy is going strong, and wheel of fortune has a better theme song somewhat?

also killer camp season two, i didn't expect it happening, but here we are!

I have no idea what happened there, looks like Course Marshall Joe (who might also be the Challenge Producer) made a call or something happened and they had to redo the shot (and she had to putt twice?)

Also, Supermarket Sweep changed it's bonus round, 90 seconds to go up the prize tree 5k/10k/25k/50k/100k

And I am not really liking this season so far compared to season one, partially, Leslie doesn't really do much in the sweep now, and there's now PAINFULLY OBVIOUS edits in the mini sweep and big sweep and super sweep.

2:00 suddenly became final 15 really fast.

And BUZZERBLOG got the look at Legends

https://www.buzzerblog.com/2021/10/02/first-impressions-legends-of-the-hidden-temple/

From the sounds of things, it's an hour long game show (no "two halfs" with the temple run being $1,000 if you win the game, $10,000 if you get the Artifact and $25,000 if you get out of the temple on time.

Happy New Year,

Did you see "The Wheel" this christmas?
Probably not, and that's okay it's on peacock

So, here's what we got this month (besides Lingo, See above)

SPEAKING OFF "STRAIGHT TO PEACOCK"

If you've been seeing the UK thread, you'll know about THE TRAITORS, well it turns out the UK and US productions worked together (same crew, same challenges, etc.)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3rqVPKOKfQ

And yes, it's Alan Cumming as the host! Hooray, all you fans of musical theater in the TVIV.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DN_4CSh7SSw

on Game Show Network, a brand new game show called "Switch" debuts, it's hailed as "the game show without a scoreboard" and let's see how it shakes up!

https://twitter.com/thechaseabc/status/1610320084630634496

The Chase returns tonight, featuring more people trying to play against trivia masterminds, and sometimes the talented Buzzy Cohen, find out which Jeopardy Alum is there this week!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80kX89wy_MI

Oh, and LIMITLESS WIN has returned, featuring a better virtual reality studio (it goes from PS3 quality to now, actually passable PS5 level)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JCq_hmNhJs

This year has Netflix possibly finally trying to beat Mr Beast at a Squid Games reality show, but WHO KNOWS how well that will do.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xkbb6pBOYKg

They also have like, their 19th food related cooking show, forget "iron chef" and "nailed it" and "easy bake battle" and "is it cake?" and "baking impossible" and "the final table" and "best leftovers ever" and "drink masters" and "snack vs chef" and "cook at call costs" and "the american barbecue showdown" and "cooked with cannabis" and "sugar rush" and maybe this obscure show called "Great British Bake-Off" this show is different, because.... because.... uhhhhh....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5JkvdVGJP0

Anyway, there is a Deal or No Deal Universe youtube channel, and some of it includes the UK variant with Noel Edmonds (and Mr. Blobby???)

but it's mostly howie, and practically every episode is already on PlutoTV at the moment.

and finally,
RUN FOR THE MONEY
(fresh from the Netflix Reality Series RUN FOR THE MONEY: BATTLE ROYALE)

is actually getting an ANIME!

That's right, a game show, becoming an anime! What a silly world we live in!

Hello Friends, just jumping in here with the boost on stuff.

Mondays have Loteria Loca and it's... okay

I really like the set, the music and even the game Loteria but it's Very... Slow and the "I WAS BORN ON THE 8TH SO NUMBER EIGHT!" is just outdated.

But it's a bit fun as we wait for DEAL OR NO DEAL ISLAND with Deathstroke hosting.

Where he plays a cross between an informant and bond villain as contestants do challenges to get a case to answer a trivia question.

Remember when Mr Beast did that a year ago? What if they actually had budget for a dorm, and instead of murder, it's ink squibs, and instead of murder at bedtime, it's "reality show twists"

Agreed with Chuck being a psycho chud, because Scrabble was my favorite Chuck Woolery show (he's passive on Lingo, and can't really ad lib on Greed, and wheel of fortune is fun, but never got to do much)

And a game of trust involving the gift box and school chairs.

And "the final three", fun.

The current highlight for me, besides the set dressing is the soundtrack, the "Pink Soldiers" remixed into this somber game show theme, is the winner.

The fact it's 456 players playing games and they missed the point of the TV series? Not so much

Happy Game Show January, I unfortunately don't have videos, but here's all I could remember...

SYNDICATED:

Family Feud is still going on! Steve Harvey still surprised by people saying penis.

Jeopardy is still in it's neverending tournament. The UK version is also going on.

Wheel of Fortune is having a bunch of themed weeks. There is a UK Version that's on Saturdays, it's neat.

FOX DAYTIME has Pictionary, 25 Words or Less and Person Place or Thing. It's very GSN but not!

CBS

You're looking at The Price is Right, and it's Prime Time "Price is Right at Night" where Jackpot January just throws money at it.

Let's Make a Deal is still going on, the prize budget is lingering where we are back to the days of $700 or a bag that has a MacBook

Survivor is coming back soon. Raid the Cage finished season 1.

After Midnight is technically a game show, but we know it's a late night show more.

NBC

America's Got Talent Fantasy League than The Voice and sometime in the future, Deal or No Deal Island.

Hey, The Traitors is going on right now on Peacock (the UK Version with Claudia is also going right now but as they go 3 a week, they are near the end, while we are currently not even a quarter of the way through)

ABC

Unfortunately, the Summer Fun & Games aren't there, however Celebrity Jeopardy is near it's conclusion, as is Celebrity Wheel of Fortune when they feel like it.

Currently, Press Your Luck has new episodes for "Whamuary" and that's very fun. It's still a really happy game show with bizarre prizes that somehow, I really want!

FOX

Gordon Ramsay Gordon Ramsay Gordon Ramsay Farmer Wants a Wife Gordon Ramsay Gordon Ramsay

And The Floor with Rob Lowe from 911: Lone Star. It's based on an international format by John De Mol, so if it fails, IT'S NOT OUR FAULT IT'S A BIG HIT!

GSN

CURRENTLY, blank slate is new.... But they are still airing all their win $1,000 play for $10,000 single/double/bullshit catch up games.

Split Second, Switch, Master Minds, People Puzzler, America Says, Chain Reaction... Uhhhhh is Common Knowledge still on? Oh, and Hey Yahoo.

STREAMING FUN AND OTHER STUFF

Netflix is finishing up "The Trust: a Game of Greed" that's uhh, existent?

UK also has new episodes of Limitless Win and they won a big cash prize.

There is also a reboot of Gladiators. And check out that theme song!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnZFVQWtO94

Also, a really good version of The Mole is going on right now. See a version that isn't watered down on Netflix.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8xndvO7zSg

So yeah, press your luck, the traitors, limitless win and all these reboots hitting the same time.

Taskmaster is returning soon, I'm assuming?

And the dumb news!

Chuck E Cheese Game Show!

Let's see people play skeeball for one million dollars spider rings

Mr Beast Getting His Reality Series

And from what I've heard based on tweets and just scattered around - it's just squid games the challenge but 1,000+ people and $10,000,000.

The sad part is he has game show producers in his call sheet.

and another game show for CBS with Jaleel White!

quote:

The Flip Side will pit two teams of players against one another to “test them on how they think two different groups of people feel about the same issue. Teams choose from multiple choice answers, and whoever has the best intuition on human behavior will find themselves richer.”

So, yeah, it's another one of those Let's Ask America/Mind of a Man/Are You Normal type shows, but on CBS.

In some ways, yay lots of game shows, it's like the 80s again.

On the other hand, it's simply because it's cheap production and this industry is slowly melting down and losing to Dumb Challenge On The Internet.

Personally, I'm surprised they didn't reboot minute to win it or 1 vs 100 yet.

Bumping this to be the (somewhat) unofficial talk for DEAL OR NO DEAL ISLAND

The TL;DR version of the rules

It's a scavenger hunt for cases full of money, this is to be used for a deal or no deal game at the end of the episode.

Whoever brings the most money back (ie a case with the most money) is the "Power Player" and will be the one to decide who is up for elimination

The two lowest scoring case holders, will be up for elimination that week.

Before, During, and even after this challenge. The Banker will call in with offers to make twists to the game, because, of course you would.

Anyway the power player picks the person who must play deal or no deal of the two nominated players.

And they play deal or no deal, open cases, get offers, "deal or no deal?" And keep going.

Whatever money they make in this game will carry over to the final game, where the winner of the season could play for it.

But back to the game, it's all about the deal. Good Deal vs Bad Deal will determine the fate.

Good Deal (you sold your case, it had low value or went all the way and had the higher amount) - you're safe and the other person is eliminated.

Bad Deal (sold your case, it had a higher value, or the lower value case was revealed at the end) - you're eliminated from the game.

So, if your favorite part of Survivor was when they went to rocks, THIS IS THE SHOW FOR YOU.
