ONE YEAR LATER posted:I'm running into the issue where my eyes skip over the book passages and I only read the commentary on them, I have to force myself to read the prose so I can understand what is going on. I can understand why this stuff is appealing to certain people, but I am finding all of the stilted back and forth with strange mood swings and lots of passive aggressive sighing/growling very off putting. Same. It's giving me a whole new appreciation for Ian Fleming, racist warts and all.
