My only experience from Quest 64 that i remember is that somehow after a battle i got turned around and ended up walking all the way back to the beginning castle. I don't know how i didn't notice it at the time but i guess kids in the 90's where impressed that you had a field to wander around in 3-D to begin with  Oh also the first actual boss beating my rear end and never actually getting any farther than that.
