This is the only VLP of the Baldur's Gate series I've managed to watch the whole way through which speaks to the fact that it's decent. The LPer manages to walk a good line between roleplaying and showing off the game. It isn't great, though I think the problem is just that the game doesn't lend itself well to VLPs. The pace is quite plodding. It's also a LP of the original games not the enhanced editions, if that matters to you.

So does (or did) CJacobs I'm pretty sure. He streamed his first playthrough of it too if you want a blind run.

If people had to pick just one of the Civilization LPs on lparchive to read, which would it be? I'm getting the itch to play some Civ again but I haven't got the time or, realistically, the computer to do it. If you're aware of another Civilization LP that isn't in the master list feel free to recommend that.

Re: The Witcher 1, I started and gave up on the game several times because of janky controls and The Swamp so ended up watching this LP several years ago: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLib-fhfCM7h46a1Xm96b9tgWuso_F8Z7U It was a blind playthrough so not lore heavy or anything but the guy is a decent LPer. He's also done the second and third games but I haven't watched them. I think there's definitely room for someone to do a lore-heavy LP of the game, or even just an experienced person to do a good non-blind playthrough, because as far as I can tell neither of those exist. CirclMastr is doing a fantastic job though so really I just recommend you watch his.

It isn't DND, but if you're open to a one-shot tabletop podcast episode, The Dadlands episode of The Adventure Zone is probably the funniest thing I heard all year. The other Adventure Zone stuff has been pretty bad so don't think this is a general indicator of their quality.

I don't know that you could consider speedruns as LPs, but a guy did a Nightmare 100% speedrun of Doom at the most recent GDQ event and it was pretty drat impressive: https://youtube.com/watch?v=oIC4tHc9_pc There aren't too many glitches, the category pretty much just involves beating the game really fast by killing/collecting/triggering everything as intended.

Oh thank you! I promise I searched the LP forum for it but I guess overlooked it or something in the results?

That said I'd love to see an LP of the first black and white in particular because I remember loving it but being completely unable to beat it as a kid.

I've reached out via PM to the LPer of the one in the archive to see if they have any higher res videos lying around, but it looks like they haven't been active on the forums for several years so if anyone has a different way to contact them then feel free.

Geop's DS1 LP fits the bill, and Iggy Igsen's LPs of 2 and 3 do too. These are all in the LP archive

Jamesman posted:I'm looking for a comprehensive playthrough of Dark Souls 3. Someone who knows the game, explores every area, gets every item, does every sidequest, talks about the lore, etc. I'm trying to re-familiarize myself with the game and hopefully get back into playing it and finishing it. That's precisely what Iggy igsen's LP is https://lparchive.org/Dark-Souls-III-(by-IGgy-IGsen)/

It's not completed by any means but I've been enjoying Melth's current DS LP. It's different enough that even as someone who has played the game to death I'm finding it interesting. https://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=4006435&pagenumber=1&perpage=40
