God drat install police protection devices on your home if you live in the Dallas-FW area.

Article posted:

While responding officers were searching the area, an officer looked inside the home through a window, and saw a person standing inside.

According to police, the officer pulled out his service weapon after “perceiving a threat.”

On body camera video released by Fort Worth PD, the officer can be heard saying, “Put your hands up. Show me your hands,” before shooting through the window at the person inside.
Officers then went into the home, and found a woman who had been shot by the officer, along with a handgun. Police have not said whether the gun was found near the woman, or found in another part of the home.

Getting on my favorite hobby horse, the difference I perceive between police doctrine and military doctrine is the police put their safety above all else while the military puts mission accomplishment above all else. The police's mission should be to ensure public safety and to enforce the law, not to ensure the officer safety.

In case you didn't think LEOs had a high enough opinion of themselves, there are now Airborne qualified SWAT teams.

Fast-forward to 2017. A similar situation struck the island of Puerto Rico which, at time of writing, is still a long way off from anything resembling a full recovery. What’s the difference? In a foreign nation, such as Haiti, it’s perfectly acceptable for military units to conduct humanitarian aid, policing actions, and operations to restore and maintain civil order. But both of the latter missions usually require some application of force, up to and including the lethal kind.

Units from the National Guard are often seen rendering medical aid or distributing supplies, but they cannot use force against U.S. citizens. With most experts agreeing that a complete breakdown of law and order can occur within 72 hours or less of a major disaster, being able to rapidly deliver peace officers to a large-scale crisis zone becomes a very high priority very quickly.

Obviously easy to Monday Morning Quarterback, but why didn't they just knock on her door to check on her?

Reading the Washington Post it says the student was being disruptive. Examples given were standing on the bus, disrupting class, and taking too much milk at lunch. Now, I can fully understand that 11 years olds can be little bastards, but unless the student is being violent, I can't see any excuse for the officer's actions.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/education/2019/10/23/video-shows-police-officer-tackling-an-year-old-girl-he-accused-being-disruptive-school/

"Christensen’s body camera footage begins about 35 minutes before he grabs the student and slams her to the ground. Christensen and other school officials can be seen following her around the campus while they wait for her mother to arrive.

The officer can be heard complaining that the student was “refusing to do anything that anyone says” and that “this has been an ongoing issue.” Christensen told one of the administrators that he was trying to get approval to detain the student.

“Then I can put her in handcuffs,” he said.

Christensen and the school principal then followed the student inside the building, where she lingered by the front, picking at a sign taped to the door. Christensen asked the principal how much the sign was worth and threatened to arrest the student if she didn’t stop toying with it.

“If you destroy it, it’s called criminal damage to property,” he said, raising his voice. “I’m going to charge you with criminal damage to property. Yeah, you’re going to go to jail for 50 cents. Yeah, plus resisting, plus disrupting the education process.”

Minutes later, when the student pushed the principal’s hand away from the door and walked back out of the building, Christensen followed her. Grabbing her backpack, he yelled “you’re done” seven times and tried to force the student’s arms behind her back. During the struggle, Christensen’s camera fell off and recorded the rest of the incident from the ground.

“You’re not gonna assault the principal,” Christensen said, shoving her against the outside of the building.

He wrestled with her for nearly three minutes before letting her get up and walk away.

“Leave me alone,” she said, “I want to go home.”

“You don’t get that option!” he replied, shouting.

He again accused her of resisting arrest and assault — this time on him, too.

Pointing at the camera still filming from the ground, he said, “It’s all on that camera right there.”"

Cops got a call that he had a gun, when they went to stop him he ran into the subway and got on the train, which is why six billion cops were waiting at the next stop.

He didn't have a gun on him when they stopped him, so he was only charged with jumping the turnstile, as running from the cops is not an actual charge.

So, yes, he was charged with theft of service but that's not why the cops were looking for him.

New York doesn't have "failure to comply with a lawful order" on their statutes?

Ok, there are LEOs who post on here. Educate me. Why would a sheriff's deputy who appears to be 6' + and 220+ lbs need to lay hands on a 15 year old quadruple amputee?

The kid literally does not have arms and legs and is sitting on the floor.

The cops used random citizens' cars as cover while shooting up the UPS truck. Literally used uninvolved drivers as human shields.

Of all the poo poo I've seen cops do, this is pretty ok. I'd rather they show up wearing jeans than decked out like they're assaulting Falujeh.

So, today I found out that there is a Federal law that exempts LEOs from any state laws restricting the carrying of a firearm. If you're a cop, you get to concealed carry nation wide, and state laws requiring licences don't apply to you.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_Enforcement_Officers_Safety_Act

Of course it's a "Safety" act.

Also applies to retired law enforcement. Because some citizens are more equal than others.

I found out about the law by reading about the "EDC Coin purse" offered by a company. The guy spells it why he engineered a coin purse that you can use as a weapon:

website posted:

Simultaneously, I was struggling to solve some EDC issues I encountered while traveling in my post-LEO life. As a regular citizen, I no longer enjoyed the privileges of carrying in all 50 states granted to LEOs under LEOSA, more commonly known as the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act or HR 218 to anyone on the job.

https://www.qoreperformance.com/products/coin-purse?variant=31253233369203

Here's a blog on what the deal is with "coin purses"

It must suck to live in a state of constant paranoia like that, that you think you have to go heeled at all times or the "bad guys" will get ya.

Without looking further my first question is, was this a house in current use or a derelict?
