How had the art not improved at all? It's like the comic never ended and Mooki just got put into stasis.

Not sure it would take any prompting to understand that a bleeding person needs help. Snout had already started working that out anyways so the message is both late and unneeded.

With this already intriguing plot filled with so many plotlines and hooks, it's a good thing Mookie expertly reminds us of the current objective in a subtle way so that the reader can keep track of what's at stake. FIND THE SHIP

Ok, this was moderately funny

Again, why does Mookie think we need to be reminded of the current objective? And why does Snout have this sheet of paper for himself when he's the only person looking for this ship?

Also it's pretty amazing this empty DBZ field even has trees of any kind besides grass. If it ain't plot relevant scenery Mookie ain't drawing it!
I wish Mookie was trying to emulate someone like Tanaka Masashi instead of Toriyama for this stuff. A completely textless comic has already been done and it's actually fun Hell, if I can find it there's an entire magazine that has it's various authors do a bonus comic for each issue and those don't have text either.

Mookie as always is just lazy when it comes to executing these ideas he has.

What? A bloody woman shows up at your doorstep and all signs point towards a mysterious ship having attacked her with the death ray Snout just saw. Of course Snout's first reaction should be to sell her out without question.

Honestly that could have been ink she was "bleeding" and not blood, we all thought she was "writing" using blood at first since Mookie's art is so unclear. As far as we know he hasn't even treated whatever wounds she might have.

I'm willing to admit this could be a case of how black and white media cannot always convey every detail clearly to the reader. It would also explain why Snout wasn't worried about any injuries. However, I would prefer to continue to dunk on Mookie as an artist so I'll call bullshit on principle.

For all Snout knows he's assembling the pocket companion to the Necronomicon but who cares about questioning the motives of a self-aware page because It has been 200 years since Dominic Deegan and he needs to know what that means.

Don't you

Don't you usually write on signs and then put them up? The last panel seems to suggest the opposite, i.e. the person who made that sign staked a blank sign into the ground and then started writing on it.
Technically this sign could have been written in advance, but all of these signs being written like they would be used by a very wordy Wiley Coyote doesn't do Mookie any favors since a simple 'Caution' or 'Danger' sign would work. This is just a dumb non-joke in a series that's not supposed to have dialogue but finds every possible way to substitute dialogue through text which is the same difference in a comic book where we can only "hear" things though text.

I do too because after reading the last 10 years of updates (so like 400 pages) the story is a lot more depressing than I remembered it being. There's a loving comatose magical girl who never got to live her own life that's apparently been behind the very confusing state of Miho being a combination of a visual novel character, a metaphyical concept, and an actual person.
The last blog update he had attached to the comic wasn't much happier and I remember him being in the hospital himself during his kickstarter. Hope life can give him a break.

Snout isn't pretending to be at the mercy of some world destroying calamity, he's a bumbling guy from the wastelands tripping his way through various monsters with no pants on. I actually miss when Mookie would tease that something bad was going to happen on a friday update, only to immediately resolve it the next monday because this is just droll.
